Yes, I think Ditka made a great call to bring him in. I was so disappointed that McMahon, my favorite Bears QB, backed Tomczak instead and that Ditka gave in! It was so obvious that Flutie could move the team better and not turn over the ball as much. That was part of the disappointment so many of us had that the Bears didn't win multiple superbowls at the time.
No doubt we could've won a Super Bowl with Flutie...about 4-5 years later. Flutie was magic as he progressed. He just wasn't ready in '86. But good Lord if the Bears had stuck with him, he would've made more plays in '90 and '91 than Tomczak and Harbaugh did in their playoff losses. It's a travesty that he spent his prime in Canada absolutley DESTROYING everything in his path.
