If you add the Jimmy Graham numbers to the offer...

He told you at the Combine that Mitch was their starter. He's done nothing in FA inconsistent with that statement.

I still can't believe they guaranteed him 9 million.

At the very least, you would think the G-reg contract at 7 million would have been the most they would have given.

I got mad with Mac yesterday regarding this. His breaking rumor was this entire "they would not call Bridgewater the starter" stuff. Why would they? If the argument is you can't get him or similar for less than $20M and blessing them the starter then so be it.

We are in this trouble if Mitch can't rebound BECAUSE he was named the starter and given no competition. You want to just bless the next guy? There are teams that tell QBs either come or don't and you will get what you earn or if injury etc. Like Wentz/Foles or Mariotta/Tannehill.

Fuck this blessing Bridgewater the messiah.

Bridgewater will be considered a bad contract by mid season

Yep! It's as if no one is aware of his record because he played well with the Saints for a handful of games.

Was not sold on him, but Bears have pretty much painted themselves into a corner at QB at this point. The only real long term fix is through the draft, would feel confident playing a young QB if we had a good OL and a solid run game, but we all know that is not the case.
