what's the point in having a 28 year old 3rd string qb if he isnt good enough to be given a shot. you have two proven losers in foles and mitch.... why would your 3rd qb spot be wasted on a 28 year old who's only redeeming quality is he apparently knows the playbook?

I don't think Billy is arguing that Bray is the long term answer at QB, maybe Billy is arguing that.

But I think there is value in giving Bray a shot. Right now the Bears don't have any QBs slots filled for 2021. They have no idea who their starter will be, nor any idea who the backup will be.

You give Bray some starts here. I don't think he'll be a revelation in that he's the long term answer as a starter, but you'll certainly find out if he's a guy who can hold a clipboard for 14-16 games a year, and step in for a week or two and not force the offense to run at a 3A high school level.

while we suspect he is nothing, we really don't know. Now seems like the absolute best time to find out. The rest of the season is essentially a scrimmage.

It doesn't really matter if Nagy is going to get launched anyway, since the next offense won't need Bray as an emergency option.

But if Nagy thinks he's going to be there in 2021, he needs to play Bray against Detroit for at least 3 series.

Bray is terrible, yes even worse than Foles/(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. My God, make these terrible sports thoughts go away.
