Hiring Emery indicated they have no idea what they're doing at GM
Hiring Pace because he's associated with success underscored how superficial and simplistic their "process" is

They'll probably take a look at the teams de jour (Bills, Rams, Titans, etc.) and end up hiring the administrative assistant from one of those teams so they can say the new hire has a resume of success.

A lot of the logistics depends on Virginia's health. They have to start making moves to sell the franchise when she is gone as it's clear that none of her sons are smart enough to run it, and the grandchildren have wanted their post-sale cash for years.

And you can't sell the team with Ryan Pace as President of Football Operations.

He also went on 1000 around Christmas and basically campaigned for the job.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: how, out of the four generations since Halas, has one heir to this multi billion dollar corporation not taken it upon himself to be a football guy. Play in high school, play or assist in college at the best sports buisness program in the country, scout out of college, get a combined law/mba, start in the low levels of gm track and work your way up to team president.

It seems like a very obvious path. Do these kids not give a fuck?

One out of every generation should be anointed as the heir apparent to the presidency, whether he/she likes it or not.
