Not even close to true. Have you forgotten the Nagy plays already? Getsy looks like Bill Walsh compared to that bozo.

since none of these offensive skill players are long term answers anyway, maybe it's time to cater the offense to the qb's skill set? I actually enjoy the TNF post game panel of ex players. those guys were begging getsy to not force fields to be a pocket passer.

This isn't college football. You can't run a successful NFL offense rolling him out all the time. He needs to develop the skills to execute simple throws from the pocket. It's not like they are asking him to take 7 steps back, plant and throw like Martz did to Cutler. It's basic QBing 101 that he is failing.

This season is supposed to be developing Fields into a real QB. They need to see what they have in Fields in these situations. Not bail him out by rolling him out. Sink or swim time for Fields.

Nagy was the head coach, not the OC and was 8 games over .500 before Fields.

The bears are on pace to win 5 games this season and everyone thinks that they are going to 'run it back' with the same staff?

They’ll cast off the line or receivers coach maybe, not Getsy, unless things fall apart to an even bigger degree.

I realize that Nagy called the plays. My point is that Nagy shuffled his OCs and QB coaches despite having a winning record with Mitch.

I'm a patient man. I'll wait and see what happens after the year.

"Real quarterbacks" normally have "real" offensive linemen blocking for them. "Real quarterback" have "real" tight ends and wide receivers to throw to. On a lot of his pocket throws, there are only two receivers being released. And when they are covered, there is no check off for Fields. Whose fault is that?

Getsy has been awful at play calling near the goal line. Wrong personnel is one of the problems.

Stop with the excuses. Video doesn't lie. Fields has no idea what he is doing in the pocket even with protection and open receivers.

That third and one while driving in the second half where Fields was sacked was terrible. Not going 2 minutes with under 6 to go was a tactical mistake

Yes, everyone except for Fields must be perfect.

Since when did Fitz become a qb expert for anyone. This guy played for what 12 teams in his life time in the NFL and in less than two years Fields has more yardage than Fitz has in 5. Fitz would have killed to have Fields talent.

Part of that is on him, though, isn't it?

Some of these guys just don't know their assignments.

SOmehow the kid managed to amass just under 300 yards total offense in the game and was a goal line bobble by a wide receiver from winning the game.BTW, he didn't muff that punt in that game and it wasn't him who didn't run out of bounds in the previous game.

If any/most of this is true then it just supports the notion that on top of the dumpster fire that is Fields you have the dumpster fire that is a coach who cant teach details. Mastering details and making sure your unit is on top of them is the responsibility of any good to great coordinator. If guys don't know where to line up in week two of the season and need to "figure it out" amongst themselves then your coach is incompetent as an executive of that unit.
