Welp.. he aint it.

At least it showed up right away and didn't enter some frustrating grey area. So everyone worrying the Bears will cheap out and pick this guy can most likely breath easy on this one.

This is another reason I was hoping they could limp out the rest of the season with Eberfailure and move on after the season. Brown was doing much better as a play caller than Waldron and the Bears had at least a little preparation and stability week to week. But they've now moved too many chairs around on this Titanic to find even the smallest amount of comfort before going under. Now they find themselves in a situation where Brown may melt down catastrophically before seasons end only for the bumblefucks overseeing this tragedy to inevitably pull his plug to reduce the suffering.

Our best hope hangs on the passing of an ancient matriarch who has absolutely nothing but perpetual ineptitude to show for the entirety of her thievery of a football organization she was never intended to have control over. The hope of a forced sale coming from such a demise that can finally scrub away decades of complete and utter buffoonery unseen and unmatched in its infinite stupidity to finally be washed away and bring forward a prosperous and rewarding football experience.. for once.

Its like agent Smith once said to Neo right before a speeding train plowed into his face; 'You hear that Mr Anderson.. thats the sound of ineveitability..'

Heres to hoping that inevitability comes soon, and brings with it all our Bears dreams and aspirations..

Happy Holidays

He was put in a pretty shitty spot, elevated from also-ran to Shane Waldron to NFL head coach inside of a month.

He showed some good things in his time at OC and I think he’ll get some room to grow in that role at his next stop.

Do you think Warren is playing four-dimensional chess by overpromoting Brown to expose how bad the team is, fire Poles in the process, get his own GM and coach, and wind up a higher draft pick to go with all that?

How did it get from 3D chess to 4D, where spacetime is a factor, but only theoretically?

Well Warren seems to be a total moron in his own right so I’m not sure I can picture him formulating such a diabolical scheme.

But.. I do think if this burns down completely and totally in consecutive blowout losses Poles may be hung out to dry. I mean how can anyone think he’s not completely in over his head at this point?

Same applies to Warren…he’s done nothing thus far but squeeze some hypothetical property taxes out of Arlington Heights.

Thomas Brown is the equivalent of the backup quarterback. The team will show some oddly good stuff, maybe win some games they shouldn’t and everyone will clamor to retain him. Ultimately it would be a mistake.

The bears just straight up fucked this guy. I get the promotion to OC. But to immediately put this poor bastard into the HC job is criminal.

I think they’re trying to do what they genuinely believe the players want, which is the sort of weak minded do-goodedness that’s plagued the franchise for a few decades.

I don't think Warren is over-promoting Brown, but I do find it highly possible Warren fancies himself the man in charge / controller of football operations when he should be 100% limited to stadium and operational duties. We found out that Ted Phillips was involved in Football decisions with approvals always heading up to George McCaskey. The model in place looks to be exactly the same.
