I'll just say this to hopefully end these stupid "mine is better than yours" arguments, comparisons, whatever.

Eli Manning 2007 QB Rating = 73.9 (Superbowl winner and MVP)
Ben Roethlisberger 2008 QB Rating = 80.1 (Superbowl winner)
Aaron Rodgers 2008 QB Rating = 93.8 (Green Bay Packers Record; 6-10)

If my QB is average but my team as a whole is good enough to win the SB, that's all I care about. Has Jay Cutler been overhyped? Yes. Do I care? No. Do I want him to play well enough to help my TEAM win? Yes. Does he have to be perfect? No. Do I think the Bears gave up too much for Cutler? No. The QB position is an important position to fill long term. Do I think Cutler was an upgrade from Orton? Hell yes.

If you all (FavreFan) want to keep arguing who is better fine. But if the Packers go 7-9 or 8-8, then Rodgers spectacular QB rating means nothing.

Just my .02

Can you show me where I said anything close to this?

I barely even mention Orton any more when talking about Cutler and it is almost always because someone else brought him up. Don't become a lazy poster like some others here who have to try and discount my so far accurate critiques of Cutler by making it seem like it has something to do about Orton.

In case you haven't noticed, there are others here who have started to say the same things I have been saying from day one of the trade. You've even agreed with my critiques in the past.

Yeah yeah yeah. You think Orton is better than Peyton Manning

Now the real question on CSFMB's mind: How many cars did you turn over/set on fire last night?

and the bears are not. the argument should not at all be about cutler. it should be about improving the team around him.

nas i said a case can be made he's played the best so far this year. And it can. I think him and manning and brees have played the best. Bringing rodgers into this is to show the bs excuse of you need a good line for a great qb to play great for what it is. I agree with cb that your team is all that matters and readily admit i was wrong about our line and therefore our team this year. But year i stand by what i said about rodgers

How does Rodgers still manage to play well with an Offensive line that is worse than the Bears.
Lets face it...Cutler isn't playing well at all.

No, he's playing "well". He's not playing better than "well", but he's fine. I just think that you need to be getting more than "well" for the resources allocated.

People are going to worship him until they grow disillusioned, and then he'll be the next scapegoat.

i don't think he's playing well. He's not playing bad either really. He's been inconsistent as hell, which i guess can be expected of a player with his history given a bad line.

Cutler is playing at an average level; 11 TDs and 11 INTs with an ~80% QB Rating. As the receivers and o-line improve, I EXPECT Cutler to improve.
Having receivers who are inexperienced does make a huge difference however. Good veteran receivers like Jennings and Driver know how to do other things to help the QB and team specifically like downfield blocking and adjusting their routes to help the QB. When your receivers are running around like chickens with their heads cut off, that does nothing for the QB except get him killed.
Driver and Jennings had the benefit of playing with Favre and are using that experience to help an already gifted QB in Rodgers.

i still maintain my position from preseason. Cutler is not playing well but he's had a horrific cast. He's not smart enough to adapt and utilize his obvious talents accordingly ala rodgers, last game excluding obviously. Given a good line cop a change is approach he has the ability to dominate
