I was going to make a comment like this yesterday and completely forgot. Briggs had an unbelievable game yesterday in just about every facet.

He's been a true leader of the D as well. He single handedly kicked his team into gear yesterday.

I thought so too. I've never thought of Url as a good leader but was wondering who was going to take over for him. That was a great interception.

Briggs is playing for his contract. He has a nice payday coming next season and doesn't want to get cut.

From Mully and Hanley this morning, Briggs has 6 more years on his contract.

He is a STUD and if baldy goes away, I won't miss him.

Its Briggs time to shine! That interception yesterday was awesome. Its also nice to have your leader of the defence be able to address the media and being able to understand what hes saying!

No but Woodson does continually surprize me as I thought he was done a couple years ago. I guess the Raiders will do that to you.

Briggs has been the best player on the Bears for a few years. I think someone on the Jets may get the award though as they are already hyping their defense as an all timer.

Just bump an old Fred Miller thread. The suck between the two of them is a goddam truckload.

yeah i remember being upset at this signing. He's been one of the best corners in the league the past couple years and i think this is the best he's ever looked so far

He has looked good...especially when he got torched deep by a 5th Round Draft pick in his first NFL play.

Woodson has started the last few seasons strong and fades as it goes on. Which is what you'd expect for a 57 year old CB.

you might be right about last season ib, i'm not gonna pretend to know. That wasn't the case in 07 though and i dont see it happening this year. The writing is definitely on the wall for harris though

I remember a not-so-good game in the NFCS in 07 (both he and Harris were bad). I wasn't watching the Packers close enough in late 07 to know how he was doing towards the very end, but he had a lot of trouble in the Dallas game as well that year.

Harris and Woodson still get by mostly on physicality. That's the sort of thing that will wear them down as the season progresses.

woodson actually played well in the giants game. Harris covered plax. Same with owens in the dallas game, although if didn't have a good game against dallas. Also remember until this year their defensive scheme was basically stick the corners on an island with no help. They've been asked to do more than any other corners in the league arguably in that sense. And woodson is more than just a physical player, he's gotten many more int's this year and the past two than average

Well I wouldnt call it competition, but at least Revis got 50% of the votes Woodson got. I didn't see Briggs get any votes...

Revis has at least 1 more game to play which is far more important I'm sure.
