I highly doubt they initiated that discussion. The two of them were probably just answering questions, and it’s kind of a no-win for both of them. If they say they’re fine with their roles, then people question their competitiveness. If they say they want to play, then people question if they’re a team player. I wouldn’t read too much into it. I’m more offended by Mulligan writing this garbage. Doesn’t he have anything more important to do?

A little defensive aren't we? Of course they want to play. They aren't saying they are better than Grossman or that they think they should be starting but they would like to play. Everyone should want to be the starter or they should get out of the league. Would you prefer Greise not want to play like Kurt Warner in Arizona?

It's not as if the coaches are going to say "Hey, Brian and Kyle want to play, let's bench Grossman".

I personally like the fact that we have 2 other QB's who want to play and aren't content just collecting paychecks.

in the case of greise he probably was promised something over than being a reserve. given grossman history i'm sure greise thought he'd be starting game 1. promised or not he's gotta understand the situation (grossman #1 pick and he's going to get a chance to start).
