I think the problem with stopping Brown today was the fact that the defense was on the field so much, and with the lead, Miami was able to wear down the Bears today.

The problem with the mobile QB's is that is they get outside the pocket, they are able to create, and take the Bears out of their gaps. I think the bigger problem is the game plans that teams are using that have their QB's get rid of the ball quickly with high percentage passing plays.

Overall, I'm not worried about the defense, but it was just a bad day for all units - the special teams sucked (2 fumbles), the defensive line really didn't get much pressure on Harrington - they made some plays, but Brown was able to get into the secondary, and he's a pretty powerful runner.

Offensively, the Offensive Line was horrible. Tait got abused, the Bears couldn't establish the run, and Grossmand was totally out of sync.

Teams are attacking Grossman by blitzing right up the middle, and that seems to really take Rex out of his rhythm.

So far with Rex, he's either really good or really bad - and that's scary come playoff time or against better teams where he can really get turnover happy....

On to the Giants!

i think it's because they blitz the outside so damn much that teams then run or pass up the middle....
so, the Bears then defend the middle and the opposition then dinks to the outside.

which is exactly what the Bears O should have been doing.......

And Smith was able to pick up some yards on the ground. If I had to name the greatest weakness of this defensive unit, this would be numero uno. The ends are not getting containment, and the QBs keep escaping to the outside to either avoid the sack or buy extra time to pass, which is leaving the secondary defenseless. Frankly, I don't know how they would go about stopping this, but I sure as hell hope Rivera does.


This seems to be the way of football, in all fairness. Those 2-minute offenses always seem to have success; why aren't offenses always in 2-minute mode, I've always wondered.

Let's take another look at this BS. Ahman Green got his hundred when the Pack started running draw plays in the 4Q in a blow out. Gore got his hundred on the strength of a 53 yard run in the 4Q of a blowout. I don't remember number 3.

Ronnie Brown is the only back who has had real success against the Bears. They have played against guys like Green, Jones, Taylor and Gore and dominated against the run when it mattered.

Yesterday was ugly but let's not get crazy here.

Hmm...these don't sound like questions that a die-hard fan should be asking....did someone turn "fair weather" overnight?
