I heard that next week Grossman will be playing on a pogo stick, so this should address one of your problems with the Bears.

The West Coast offense does not use a shotgun formation.

Brown Out for Season

Please call Commonwealth Edison to address the brown out problem. It doesn't seem right that it would last all season.

Panther, we'll see what they come out like in the next couple of weeks and see if they respond positively to this adversity or fold up like bitches. I think they'll respond well and come out swinging. They are one of the deepest teams in the NFL and I think/hope they will rise to the occasion.

Except for the gaping void at wide receiver or the drop off at linebacker...

The loss of a wide receiver doesn't concern me that much. Gage screwed up and fumbled but did okay as a replacement and with some practice reps should be acceptable. Plus, they have been very successful throwing to the Tight End and nothing changes that with Berrian being out. McKie has also been quite reliable making catches out of the backfield and that can continue. All it means is less of a chance Grossman will be lofting up prayers if they force him to throw shorter, more accurate passes. They will also need to utilize BOTH running backs more and hopefully Benson can show what he has. He looked good yesterday so maybe he can build on that.

On the defensive side, of course Urlacher is a huge blow if he's out but Leon Joe is a decent player. They haven't blitzed or done that many stunts this year yet because it hasn't been needed, but maybe they'll have to start doing this more now and get more aggressive with Urlacher out. I don't know, but it's not like missing 2 out of 22 players makes you an awful team all of a sudden. Get rid of the turnovers and huge mistakes and yesterday's game is quite different. The key is Grossman learning and quit playing stupid and Hester staying the hell away from anything even near the 20 yard line. Urlacher could have been out yesterday and the score would have been the exact same.

He is not good at LB either. If Urlacher is lost, the Bears are in for some bad times.

But didn't Briggs play the middle in college? Why wouldn't he slide into the middle whe he's done it before? Has Hunter played there before?

Are you serious? Berrian is the team's only deep threat. Once he left the game, the Dolphins squatted on the short routes and were consequently able to break up several very well thrown passes.

does any team run a true west coast offense anymore? it's more of a hybrid. the shotgun is worth a try!

Brian Urlacher told FOXSports.com that an MRI this morning showed he too has a sprained ligament.

The Bears don't have a shotgun formation in the play book. At least that's what I heard Hampton say on the radio yesterday.

Oh great, we're back to the "test" thing. If Berrian and Urlacher don't play, then people will say it wasn't a true test. Strahan is out, so it's not a true test. On and on....

I've heard a Bears offensive player--I can't remember who now--say recently that they've been practicing the shotgun.

Maybe they're practicing for shotgun season. It does open up on the 17th you know.

Shame on the coaching staff for not having Gage better-prepared to play. You had to figure Berrien was going to go down at some point.

He's been a gametime scratch for six weeks for a reason. His knee is not ready yet.

I think Davis can fill that speedster role. He may not be as fast as Berian but he is fast. They hit him deep several times during the preseason and a couple of times this year.

Move Urlacher to tight end, Tommie Harris to fullback and Tank Johnson to quarterback!

Agreed. All these games are a test regardless of who they play or who's injured or who's not. As stated before by Hawkeye, they'll either come out swinging or they'll fold like bitches.

I heard that Ricky Manning is a pretty good kicker.
