Bad footwork, bad mechanics, weak arm. This would be a terrible pick at #3, so you can count on the Bears to do just that.

I've seen high school quarterbacks in Illinois that look better than this guy.

If the Bears take him it will be in 3rd round or later, nobody is taking him in the first round.

They're courting him like a first rounder.

And don't discount that the Bears trade down from #3.

Everything I have read lists Mahomes' arm strength as his major asset.
What are you talking about?

He's not considered a 3rd rounder anymore.

Here's your next QB of the Chicago Bears. The guy doesn't stand a chance in the pros.

What bit? I didn't write these articles. This is what's being said about the guy.

If it's true to my character that I'm pessimistic about whatever the Bears do after many losing seasons and not being able to draft, then fine.

The Bears were 3-9, and you started a thread about them making the playoffs; viewtopic.php?f=72&t=103754

1) Go to the store
2) Buy a bottle of Liquid Plumber
3) Drink said bottle
4) Bye

What does that have to do with Mahomes?

If I was thinking wishfully for the Bears to make the playoffs for once, I don't think I'm alone on that one.

Why don't you reveal some of your insightful thoughts on the Bears, if you have any??

You're in the wrong thread. You belong under the "Douchebag of the Week" thread.

If you were dead, we would not have to deal with idiotic threads like this.

Dignified Rube wrote:

I want the Bears to make the playoffs as much as anybody. To "wishfully think" that a 3-9 team has a chance at the playoffs, is so far beyond stupid that there isn't an adjective invented yet to describe that sort of thought. I think the Bears may have already been mathematically eliminated by the time you started that thread.

The Bears are a terrible team right now and have been for a couple years now. Anything beyond that, you would not be able to comprehend.

DBOTW is a section, not a thread. Keep up.

It wasn't wishful thinking, it was believing/insisting that divisional record primarily determines a playoff berth and/or divisional championship.

I don't know anything about Mahomes but from what I've read/heard arm strength is his strength. There is a recent clip of him throwing the ball 80 yards. 80 yards is 80 yards whether a rainbow or "towering line drive."

The film you posted starts out by saying he has "a cannon for an arm."

"The Bears are a terrible team." Brilliant, Frank. You uttered something that is obvious to everyone on the board.

As for when I made the post you are referring to, the Bears were 3-1 in the division at that point with a number of games left to play. You would think that a team's divisional record matters in terms of playoff placement to a league that has divisions, but it doesn't. That's idiotic.

Like I said, go nominate yourself on the Douchebag thread, you've earned it.

Who cares what the film says. Actually watch how he throws.

He holds the ball around his belly. So it takes him more time to bring the ball up to throw. Anyone who knows anything about quarterbacking would call that bad mechanics, as Cutler had bad mechanics in this respect. If you want to see good mechanics, look at film of Marino or Cam. The ball is gone in an instant.

And when he does throw, you see weak throws. There's no bullets, except easy sidelines passes for 5 yards. 20+ yard passes downfield take forever to get to their targets.

I would like to apologize for saying Ruffcorn was in the same league as Rube. That was my bad. Rube is in a class all by himself for worst sports thoughts.

Mahomes is what everyone's best-case scenario Johnny Football was. #3 would be high, but trading up back into the second to grab him would be smart.

I'd give anything if Big Mo Cason would just show up to say that Frankie Flapjacks is "Certified! Syrupfied!"

If you could get the Bills or Jets to trade up, that would be the best thing in the world for the Bears draft.

Bears looking to trade down per a Yahoo article today. Didn't someone write about that yesterday in relation to Mahomes?
