Wow.

Should have traded down if they targeted him.

I would have taken Eifert (gone in the next pick by Cincy).

There is just no way on gods green earth that he was #1 on any other draft board. And that isn't even taking into consideration who was left at #20.

For a second there, I felt physically ill.

Sharrif Floyd must be sitting in prison right now. I mean that has to be it.

edit: and there he goes to the Vikings at #23, with his 94 draft grade. So we can look forward to him bending over Long, in the future.

I like this pick. Also the Bears should take 5 more offensive linemen this draft. Emery is a genius

Gotta hand it to Boers. He said he had a bad feeling about the 1st pick. I still cannot believe that was the pick. The division must be beside themselves.

The defensive lines in this division are absolutely frightening right now.

I suspect we are soon going to hear things floated about him being the possible LT of the future.

If they were going to draft a project, they should have taken Geno Smith.

Yep. But I'm sure Kyle Long will block them all.

Totally agree, Dr. Ken. You want a project, take a QB.

Emery doesn't seem to understand draft slotting.

Calling out for Dewskie. I need a person to focus my anger upon.

The draft had set up as failure proof and....Emery Caller Bob punts me.

Great CBs, possibly the best defensive player in the draft in Floyd, highly thought of TEs...and we reach for the SIXTH OT of the draft. I'm losing my shit right now.

That's the last line of his Kyle Long's scouting report, ~"could be a top 10 LT....someday".

Geno's too different from Cutler. T Wilson splits the difference--he played in an uptempo, short-passing game offensive scheme in college but has a Cutler caliber arm.

I think he was a backup G for Oregon. Might've started a few games.

I guess it was lost on Emery when he was handing out 35 million that Bushrod is 25 years old.

Soooooooooooooooo, now there are FOUUUUUURRR players battling it out for RT. Sounds like a great way to use a 1st rounder.

+1000

I didn't think there was any way Emery would reach again, especially with the way the 1st round went. emery just said "Kyle Long was the best O-lineman on the field at the senior bowl". Jesus H Christ. embarrassing.

I meant that they way that sentence is written it sounds like he's the son of Howie Long and Chris Long.

from Biggsy's twitter."So, Emery says #Bears were not trading out of No. 20 unless Kyle Long was gone"

Of course he wouldn't be gone.....NOBODY HAD HIM ON THEIR FUCKING BOARD FOR THE 1ST ROUND !!!!!!!!

This could not have gone any worse.

It's almost like Phil Emery has the head scout who assembled the team with the #1 pick this season.
