Kind of like 47's administration setting this country back at least one generation.

If that's true, it becomes a total of 2 generations set back. The last 25 years have been a disaster.

oh yeah, definitely. I was being conservative. I don't blame anyone I know for leaving this place. It won't get better in your lifetime so why not enjoy your remaining years in a place that isn't so stressful and toxic?

The Acho brothers are the most overrated commentators in football

how are they overrated? I've never heard a thing about 'em.

Never. i only seen the one dude Emmanuel on some sports talk show on FS1. The other one I have no idea what he does.

So to me they fly under the radar.

I just listened to the podcast of Jim Miller on M & H and he basically said DJ Moore was Sulking because Caleb didn't know what he was doing out there.

Moore does not like him but somebody, probably his therapist, just told him to let it go & count his money. You can literally observe the week it happened. I thought the Bears would trade him but I guess even being a Caleb Hater isn’t a big enough sin for the beloved to trade away their only elite player.

I will say you have the most active imagination. You can pretty much come up with anything out of that mind of yours to throw shit against the wall.

I remember when Tyson Bagent’s dad was put on the cross for all this bullshit that was obviously being spun up by Caleb & his old man.

I always thought making second-season undrafted D2 guy Tyson Bagent the lone backup was an especially cruel and stupid move. #1 overall rookies are what journeyman backup quarterbacks are for. I saw that the '98 Colts basically did this for Peyton Manning, but Caleb Williams is no Peyton Manning.

Caleb had the better rookie year.

Statistically. Manning grew. Caleb didn't. Now he has to do a whole other rookie year.

Flipping channels, just heard Danny Parkins say Caleb Williams was good last season.

It’ll be absolutely gutting if they get first overall and trade it away or take a player other than Arch Manning because they are still married to Caleb.

They're not going to finish close to last place. It took incredible feats of stupidity to finish 5-12 last year, so they'll probably bounce back to their customary 7 or 8 wins next year.

7 wins or even 8 should mean everyone is fired. Poles at a minimum.

they're headed to Bulls Tom Thibodeau era with the Ben Johnson hiring. Too good of coaching to be worse than 7 wins, too little line talent and up against a great division to be better than 9 wins.

They're not firing Poles with 7 wins. I would have fired him after last year, after his O-line "depth" sucked so hard. But they didn't. 1 trade keeps his job for him.

 Grew how exactly? He was the first pick in the draft and expected to play "statistically" as well as Caleb. Payton had 28 INT's and went 3-13. You Caleb haters just keep throwing out BS statements with nothing to back it up.

They almost beat the A team if the field goal wasn't blocked.

I dunno the defense really got worse after Uberloss got fired and now it’s just a year older, a year worse and totally neglected. The bottom could totally fall out of this team.

I think the defense degradation was due to injuries more than anything, but maybe it will be worse? If the offense is clicking and the defense isn't on the field for the entire first half, hopefully there will be improvement.

Yeah, the defense nosedived after Billings tore his pectoral muscle. Brisker's injury also was important since he was playing at or near a Pro Bowl level. The problem for the Bears is that neither one can be counted on for this season. Billings is 30 and Brisker's brain is jello at this point. They have done nothing to add depth at safety, and the signing of Grady Jarrett at DT is odd since he is also old and had a disappointing season last year after returning from a major knee injury. It looks like the Bears want to move away from Dexter at DT--maybe they are going to try him at end?--but they have questions at one of the linebacker spots and both of the safeties.

I do like Dennis Allen as a defensive coordinator, though. This could prove to be the best coaching staff that the Bears have had since.....DITKA.

Was Montez Sweat playing through injuries last season? If he doesn't regain his 2023 form the defense will be in trouble.

I am cautiously optimistic. But I dont see how anyone can have too strong of an opinion (either way) on him after one season with the boobs who were leading the team.

Let's see what he looks like with Johnson at the helm. They have a solid staff. They have weapons around him.

But either way we should know pretty quickly this season as long as he stays healthy.

It would horribly disappointing if Caleb does turn out to be the real deal, but the Bears end up being in the same situation the Bengals are with Burrow.

I realize this is beating a dead horse, but Poles' draft misses have put this team at least 2-4 years out from being a consistent playoff team, assuming this year has more hits than misses and he suddenly "figures it out" going forward. Seems like a leap of faith.
