I hate the way this team plays. 17 penalties aside, it was a miracle...miracle, that GB didn't drive down the field at the end and kick a FG.

The Bears don't stop people. They just annoy people until they get tired of completing passes. That usually doesn't play well when you only need a FG at the end of the game.

Injury protection, most likely. He takes enough shots. Look at what happened in the Michigan/ND game this year. You might win the battle and lose the war.

Plus they're not getting any surge up the middle anyway; there's no place to fall. The better question is why the interior line can't get any push.

I really liked the TO then the challenge. And going for it on 4th and goal.

I'm with Noisy. This defense needs to change.

Old CSFMB common wisdom: The Bears are going to go 4-12

New CSFMB common wisdom: The Bears are an awful undefeated football team.

They're not awful. They're just fortunate.

well, how would you address the current situation? I feel as confused as I did after the Dallas game....

I agree with that. I don't care at this point. It looks like almost every damn team in the NFL is 8-8 this year. Let's get some lucky bounces, win 10 or 11, and enter the playoff lottery.

You understand that luck plays a huge role in football, but in every other circumstance, the better team always wins according to most of this board. Except when the Bears play, apparently.

How the hell is a team not awful if the opposing team has 17 penalties - most of which are egregiously stupid in their timing as well as yards given away - and they barely :? squeak out a victory?

The game was a god-damned embarrassment for both teams; they all should have been sent on a moving pathway through a large set of rotating knives and turned into little bitty idiot meat-bits rather than their locker rooms.

The Bears are a slightly above average football team capable of beating just about any team in the NFL, and capable of losing to most of them. Such is life in the modern NFL.

Everything I disliked about this team was reinforced tonight.

-They can't run the ball.
-They can barely protect the passer.
-The defense gives you as many yards via the air as you care to take.
-Lovie seems clueless.

It's easy to jump on the bandwagon but I can't do it.

What teams in the NFC are better than the Bears right now (not record-wise, obviously)? I count three.

Why is it jumping on a bandwagon when it is your team? Sure this team has concerns, but they are 3-0 and just beat the Packers. Just enjoy it for a night and go back to putting pins in your Lovie Voodoo doll tomorrow.

Dallas. Probably Minnesota. Maybe on par with Seattle.

Look at their schedule. They could be 2-5. If you guys think the Bears have looked bad...

Philadelphia is a mirage. The Bears beat Dallas in Dallas (potentially a big win for playoff ramifications). We'll see the Giants next week, but they are in shambles. Washington just lost in St. Louis. The West is a joke.

Who are your three? Green Bay, New Orleans, and that's as far as I can get.
edit: I see Atlanta.

I'm happy that they are 3-0, but there are so many problems with the Bears. Weak defense, no running game, bad offensive line.

I just don't want to be Denver from last year.

Dallas scored 13 points on offense against this team. The Bears went into Dallas and controlled the game. Minnesota has looked terrible. Seattle has no offense and not much of a defense.

Regardless of what he says now if/when the Bears piss away this season he will be hurt. He might as well enjoy the few high spots a long the way.

Dallas - aren't you a big sample size guy?

Minnesota - will get it together. This is like their preseason. It's over now.

Seattle - yep.

And Philly, Minny & Dallas.

Lets not get crazy here drinking the kool aid. Remember the Broncos last year?

regardless of the record, after tonight, I'm still not ready to put my faith in cutler and the offense, especially considering that he had 2+ INT's called back due to penalties. some of those decisions that he still makes, make me hold back...

Don't get me wrong, I still love the trade/the player, but he got bailed out on some of those throws...

Minnesota's next seven games:

MIN @ NYJ
DAL @ MIN
MIN @ GB
MIN @ NE
ARI @ MIN
MIN @ CHI
GB @ MIN

They'll be lucky to be 4-6 after that stretch.
