I really like the fact that they got a great upside running back that should really fit into their offense.

It's hard to do much better not drafting until the third round.

I think they did pretty good for what they had in this draft. Ridley seems like it could be an outstanding pick.

I thought the Bears did great with limited picks, I've become a huge fan of Pace.

No doubt.

This was actually a great draft from a purely philosophical perspective. They took value all over the place. Even in trading up for Montgomery, they got what some consider the best RB in the draft but almost universally neck and neck with Sanders for #2.

It is possible that Montgomery and Ridley become huge steals. Overall fine job keeping in mind we got Mack.

Poor man's Josh Jacobs.

Montgomery, isn't his "guy" yet he's the best RB in the draft. Dolphin using all lanes today.

when I say some, that doesn't mean me or I would have used I.

However, there are other people out there whose opinions I value and they thought more highly of him.

I said before the draft, there is a big blob of backs with similar draft grades. Trayveon Williams and Justice Hill were the two I liked the best.

No one had the benefit this year of draft expert Mike Mayock.

This Kerrith Whyte pick is giving me a hard on.

He isn't Cohen...yet. He is like a first year Cohen in that he hasn't learned the value in avoiding hits. Hopefully Tarik takes him under his wing and teaches him. He is bigger AND faster than Tarik but doesn't have his catching experience. Hopefully he spends a lot of time on catching and at least two facets of special teams.

I'm a little surprised the Bears haven't added any free agent depth over the last few days now that we're past the comp pick stage. Baltimore and New England have been active of late. Bears don't have the glaring holes, and not even sure who they would be looking at, but would love another veteran DB in camp at the very least.

I’m not saying he’ll be anywhere near as effective as Hester.. but when he runs, he looks like Hester. If that makes sense.

Speed kills, and this dude is fast. Nagy should find ways to use him I’d think. I have a feeling our offense will be really fun to watch this upcoming season. I do wish they’d find a legit young backup QB that fits this style of offense tho. I get the feeling Mitch will get injured at some point and the guys we have sitting behind him are dogshit that don’t make sense skill set wise for the scheme.

Agreed. Didn't Pace say you have to draft a QB every year?

Even if you follow that philosophy religiously you need to pause it when you have so few pics.

He's drafted one in 5 years. I'd say that's more than a pause.

but there were UDFA worthy of looks

I think that you should always be in pursuit of developing a QB. Maybe they think Tyler Bray has something. It is clear Daniels does not

The flyer guy has to always be the #3 though. When you are in your window you always need something at #2 that can be average enough to not lose the game for the defense.
