Okay, I admit that I've had this on the whole time but I couldn't tell you anything substantive of what he said because my brain floated away moments into the presser.

I was/am pro-Trestman so I'm hoping he's doing well .... is he?

Great question.

He's gotten better. His prepared speech was funny and gay. Some of his answers are still a little weird but he seems more comfortable now. He's still not really saying anything though. He's excited and winning isn't his #1 job.

He has said a few quirky things, but he is well spoken. He has lots to say. He seems open, honest, and willing to answer all the questions. I feel good about this. The only potential pitfall is that this guy may be in over his head. But from what I have heard, he seems like the right guy.

He said he'll give an honest answer if it's in the best interest of the team. Am I the only one that caught that?

I like the fact that he's going to call the plays and he isn't talking about getting off the bus running. I'm concerned about the defense now that Marinelli doesn't want to coach the Bears.

That's been told to him by Goodell.

I think he will answer a question if it makes sense to. I don't think he meant he will lie if it helps the team. It applies to things like injuries where you do not want to answer a question on Wednesday for a Sunday game.

I think he was being honest and that is the right way to go. You never want to give an opponent an advantage. I thought it was funny because he started the answer by saying he was going to be honest and after a bunch of useless words he threw that in at the end.

IIRC he was best friends with Lovie. That was Lovie's first choice for DC but Tampa wouldn't let him go. Loyalty matters even in the NFL. He'll get another job.

Few things I liked

1. He would not say cutler is a franchise qb, shows me he is not sold on him and cutler is not guaranteed to get that extension.

2. Urlacher is gone, he is washed up...this is good

3. Kellen Davis is gone

I like the "science of football" line but we have a meat and potatoes fan base that won't like that.

It doesn't mean anything, though. It's just empty verbiage. Football isn't a science. It's a game. If I got piano lessons from someone who wanted to teach "the science of playing piano," I wouldn't want lessons from that person.

Hard for me to tell at what point Emery stopped talking and Trestman started.

Trestman: "that's a great question." again and again.

I disagree. I think a football geek may be able to see things that Tice and to a lesser degree Lovie wouldn't see.

Monte Kiffin was just hired as the Cowboys defensive coordinator. The rumor is that Marinelli will go to Dallas to work with his buddy as defensive line coach.
