I am fine with Hageman, but secondary is more of a concern at this point.

Safety should be first round pick, then 2nd round, 1 fat guy works for me.

They will be taking a late round QB. Zach Mettenberger, LSU . Right now 9th ranked QB. One of the more impressive QB's I watched in college when in pertains to the NFL game. Big, stands up straight, great vision on crossing routes, can throw down field. All that said, then 2 weeks later I heard Hub say the same thing. :?

I stated this in the first few rounds as my preference months ago. I agree on the LSU kid. If not for the knee he would be near the top.

This mock has the Bears taking the DT Donald one spot behind the player I think they should draft, Clinton-Dix.

Seeing a lot of Manziel to the Vikings talk... I like Manziel, but just don't think that's a good fit.

Isnt the draft usually in April?

And who is going to attend Kain Colters pro day as he works out as a WR?

There was some conflict with a big event, play or some other shit where they have it. But I also think they wanted to move it permanently as well. Either way next year at least is back to normal timing.

I don't think Clowney #1 is the right move for Houston.

I agree, but I do think they'll end up taking him. I think it's a big mistake not taking a QB there, especially with the new CBA not punishing teams too much for drafting a bust top 5.

I don't think Clowney will bust but they have Webb and their D line was not their problem. Healthy receivers and Matt Shaub was.

Clowney is an all world talent. You take him when you have an opportunity no matter who you currently have.

I think he is going to be great but it will never be enough for the fans of any team who drafts him

This will sound like hyperbole, but it isn't - he has to be a Hall of Famer to justify drafting him over a QB, given the current state of the Texans. And even that might not be enough, depending on how good Bridgewater, Bortles, or Manziel is. DE is a very important position, but it's still not comparable in importance to QB, and the Texans already have the best DE in the league.

Well we don't know what they will do but having Webb and Clowney coming from opposite sides and either sacking QB's or swatting passes will change your team.

Is it? I thought they were trying to drag out their big off-season attraction to provide more programming for the NFL Network.

IDK thought I heard that for this year. Maybe long term you are right.

Completely agree, and especially if one of the QBs in this draft becomes an all timer.

You don't think the fans have a right to be pissed if one of the QBs becomes an all timer? I'm guessing you would definitely agree QB is a 10x bigger need for Houston right now.

Of course they have the right.

QB is a bigger need for them right now. But if they are not convinced one of the top guys is going to be great then they would be stupid to pick a QB over Clowney.

What if you take the next Ryan Leaf and Clowney becomes an all time great guy on D?

It is a tough spot. If you make the right choice you can set your team up for years to come. If you make the wrong choice you can...

What if said QB is Jemarcus Russeel or Ryan Leaf?

I agree. But the reward if you hit on QB is almost immeasurable when compared to DE. It's a much more justifiable pick, and like I mentioned, the new CBA makes it a much more forgiving risk/reward scenario.

Then you're almost guaranteed another shot at it next year.

Bill O'Brien is a QB afficianado. The Texans traded Schaub. It would make perfect sense for them to draft a QB #1. QB is by far the biggest need, and you have 3 potential franchise level talents to choose from... But I have a feeling someone in the front office is pushing for Clowney after his combine and visit to Houston.

I see Clowney having a Julius Peppers career. If I can't be pissed about Long being picked over guys at more important positions than no fan could be pissed about a Clowney pick under that scenario.

I hear what you're saying GD, but fans are short sighted in forgetting neither VY or Reggie Bush truly made an impact on the league when Houston took Mario Williams number 1. I assume many Texans fans will be upset if Houston added another defensive player to an already really good unit.

Thats who I'd like to see the Bears land as well. It depends on what falls to them tho, but if CD is there at 14, thats where they should go imo.

Then we could have signs with Monica Lewinsky in Bears gear yelling, "I LOVE CLINTON-DIX!"
