Trestman may have supported the deal for Cutler to help guarantee his own security. If Cutler walked and Trestman was left with a new FA or rookie, and then regressed/failed, he may have been launched after a year. Now the Bears are almost forced to keep him 3-4 years, right?

Big mistake....the signing, not describing another one of Jay's Passes. The guy has a good arm and can make all the throws. he's a smart guy too. But he has a huge ego and makes bad decisions with the football far too often, because he believes he can make plays he shouldn't even be attempting. He's not young anymore. He is, what he is and that is, a guy who will get his team to the playoffs now and then, but never be able to avoid mistakes enough to win in the playoffs, except a single game here or there.

Russell Wilson was drafted late and worked out nicely. Romo was a free agent.

I saw a piece on cutler the other day. I think it was jaws so take that for what it's worth. He was saying in real time jay has looked really good at times this year but when you get to the film room he is ignoring the progression and going where he wants wi the ball even though there were open reads to other players not named Marshall or Jeffrey. I have no idea how he knows what the correct read is but if he is correct you would have to assume trestman is a little pissed or at least concerned about it.

That might have to do with the fact Jay believes he needs to make big plays instead of just nickel-and-dime his way down the field.

What??? We have watched Cutler long enough to judge him. Judge his mechanics, judge his decision making. Whether Trestman feels he can win with him or not has little bearing on my judgement.
