Trade official, source tells ESPN: Bears get: Khalil Mack, a 2020 second-round round pick and a conditional 2020 fifth-round pick. Raiders get: 2019 first-round pick, 2020 first-round pick, 2020 third-round pick, 2019 sixth-round pick. So Bears get back second-round pick, too

Pace cleaned up! This is a fucking steal!

Didn't think it were possible but I'm more excited about this deal now than I was early this morning.

It is entirely possible that in the coming years, Carr and Gruden will have the offense humming but the Raiders will be in need of a pass rusher, while the Bears discover (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky isn't the answer and wish they could draft a first-round QB. Lose-lose.

The bears had the greatest linebacker in the history of the nfl and one year they went 1-13 this isn’t baseball where one guy can put a team in contention...3 phases of game.but no doubt the losers today are the raiders

The Bears may have the best front 7 in football now. Their secondary just went from average to really good. This defense is good enough to Kyle Orton our way to the playoffs. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is better than that.

So basically they lose two 1sts, each in 2019 and 2020, and a 6th next year. But they also trade up from the 3rd to the 2nd in 2020 (two seconds in 2020, so that's nice) and get a 5th in 2020.

So their 2020 draft actually will be OK. They'll have the same number of players coming in as they would have without the trade minus the first, but they'll likely recoup another top 50 pick. Right now they have a 3rd, 4th and 7th round pick next year. Basically a lost draft.

Definitely feels a lot better than two 1sts and a player or even two firsts alone.

They are at the very least the deepest front 7 in the league. Aaron Lynch and Nick Kwiatkowski are going to be rotational guys, which to be honest Lynch may be anyways but it may be a role he can really excel in.

Kwiatkowski is a starter caliber player full stop. Not a stud but he's somebody you'd almost definitely feel comfortable with starting at any linebacker position, now they are free to mix him in and move him around which, like Lynch, could put him only in positions where they know he has an advantage. He's an excellent blitzer which is exactly the type of sub that can thrive in this defense.

I'd expect the Bears to run a 2-5 front or have Mack line up in a three point stance a lot. As good as Mack will be at gobbling up attention they will still want to get him in places where he has easily beatable on-one-one matchups. Leonard Floyd has the red carpet laid out for him.

Fangio has a lot of toys to play with in the front 7, they are going to be able to bring it. The way the rest of the NFC North is constructed the Bears pass rush can easily disrupt their offenses. There's not an offensive line in the league that can deal with the blitzes the Bears are going to be capable of throwing out.

Its the biggest trade in NFL history where a defensive player is the centerpiece. Bigger than Champ Bailey for Clinton Portis no doubt.

Do you think he’ll even play in the 1st week? He missed every workout in the offseason as well as the preseason...and changing teams in case you missed it.

He's listed as the starter at RT on their website.

think of this way

You're drafting Khalil Mack next year in the 1st, but the price you pay for getting him a year early is you trade down from the 1st to the 2nd in 2020. You lost a 3rd rounder in the mail somehow too, oh well. The 5th and 6th is a wash.

You best be oopsing yourself. Mack wasn't sitting out the season. This thread is peppered with bad sports thoughts from you. I mean, real village-idiot type material.
