I'm hoping that he doesn't try to trade into the end of the first round.

Oh come on. Where's your sense of adventure? It would be a delightful moment for them to interrupt the broadcast around 9:00 to inform the audience the Bears have traded up to #21 and are now on the clock.

"With the twenty-first pick in the 2020 NFL draft the Bears select CJ Henderson, cornerback from Florida"

I can seriously picture it in my head.

That is my prediction. He trades next years first to get back in at the end of the first round. Likely for a guy that would of been there at 43. It makes sense. If they don't make the playoff it wont be his problem next April. I hope I am wrong.

Once it gets out that the Bears are looking to trade next year's first teams are going to be busting the door down trying to get it. Pace will still throw in a third and fourth next year too though, since we're never allowed to have a full draft ever again apparently.

It's based on guys who should be available when the Bears draft.

What doesn't make sense is George green-lighting this. Won't happen.

The Bears didn't tell (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky that they were going to draft him until Goodell called his name.

What's stopping him though? They aren't in a room together.

This gets into the nitty gritty of filing a trade and whether Pace can act unilaterally here without any real oversight. I really dont know how its handled. Usually they're all in the same room and Pace wouldn't be able to pull a fast one on them, but now? It seems way more feasible.

And then what do the Bears do if he pulls it off? Fire Pace? No way, that would be admitting publicly that this happened. They'd basically have to pretend they wanted to do this trade all along or else the McCaskey's would look like they dont even have control of their own team.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky didn't know he was drafted by the Bears until someone told him that when Goodell calls your name it means someone drafted you.

They still haven't told Mike Glennon that they drafted (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

It'll be impossible to top (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky over Mahomes but I really think he's going to try.

Unless Pace's wife decides to vacuum again he will have George live on one of the monitors on his fronchroom table.

Ten picks between now and the Bears.

Josh Jones and Ezra Cleveland are available tackles. There are like seven first-round quality wide receivers still left, but guys like Mims and Higgins really stand out. Not to mention DeAndre Swift and JK Dobbins. You figure some of these teams are going to draft defenders...2.43 is looking like a mighty fine place to be.

Honestly its the Packers passing on an offensive player that threw this all off. Had they taken Higgins or Mims this wouldn't be so rosy, but that one extra guy really makes this feel like a golden opportunity. And Pace didnt recklessly trade up with 2021 draft capital! The way it looks now we've got a full draft next year.

Lets see though. A lot can go wrong.

One half of me sees all this talent out there and wants them to trade up, but really Pace has to stop sticking his hand in the honey jar. Its going to be excruciating watching these picks tomorrow evening. I'm really high on the idea of Mims but there are like seven teams between 2.33 and 2.43 that have massive needs at wide receiver.

The draft is breaking right for the Bears. They could do some damage if Pace doesn't blow it.

Well, he hasn't fucked it up yet. I'm glad he showed restraint not trading up yesterday. Maybe his wife was giving him a handjob at his desk to calm him down.

That would rob me of all my joy from the Packer pick.

There is so much top talent at so many positions of need, a QB in the second would be criminal.

Every safety and TE is available right now. Great WR of every size and shape are there.

If Josh Jones is there at 2.43 I would give the Redskins a call and ask how they feel about giving us Trent Williams and 3.66 to move up and get him. The demand for Williams has simply not materialized the way I thought it would, I guess a year away from the game crushes a guy's trade value.
