I don't think we need that many. If we don't see major improvements in his game by about Halloween next season, it might be time to pull the pin on Fields.

Chicago loves the applying the sunk cost fallacy (see (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, Mitch). Even if Fields sucks I bet management will start him through his rookie contract. The next great hope for us is probably in someone's eighth grade class at the moment.

Coincidentally, the next target of Chas's romantic interests is also in someone's eighth grade class at the moment.

If Pace is here that’s a certainty. There is no way he can survive Fields failing.

People said the same about a Mitch failing.

There is no point paying attention to anything while Pace is still here. That's the main reason I'd want Harbaugh, because he'd almost certainly want Pace launched as a precondition.

Fields sucks if all he can muster on offense is three field goals against Minnesota. Learn how to hold on to the ball.

The defense played their asses off, even guys who hadn't started before, and you did nothing.

He looked very fast for the first time yesterday and much more elusive.

Among the many off season areas of improvement, he should be doing hand exercises

There are still flashes that makes a battered Bears fan believe that THIS TIME it will be different. Problem is, they're surrounded by a shit load of dumb decisions and inaccurate throws. Why doesn't his teammates like him? Arrogance?

A couple thoughts on why that may be:

1. Fields has strong chemistry with certain players like Mooney and Kmet, but veterans may feel that Fields shut out Allen Robinson and Jimmy Graham.
2. Fields' tendency to make one read and take off is probably pissing off the linemen.
3. The flopping (or exaggeration when he takes a legit hit) might be irritating since it seems to rev up the opposing defense.

Maybe that's why they were all dropping his passes last night.

Gotta be confident/arrogant to be an NFL QB, maybe Fields goes beyond the usual level of confidence of a 1st round QB. Questionable when you hear things like "Mac Jones is a great leader in the locker room" about a rookie. These guys are 22-23 and haven't done shit in the league. I doubt anyone's looking to them for leadership their first year.

Russell Wilson was super confident-arrogant from the get. Aaron Rodgers had to bide his time behind Favre and no doubt griped about it the entire time. Patrick Mahomes in his own weird, kermit-the-frog voice way is a super confident sort. Tom Brady's the ultimate in self-confidence. If you don't have a Russell Westbrook level of self-confidence-to-arrogance as an NFL QB you're either holding a clipboard during games or not in the league anymore.

There is usually some deference to veteran players until you've had a little success. I don't think Fields got that memo. The guys on the Bears offense gushed about (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. You could tell that they loved him. Guys appear to be tolerant of Fields. He needs to fix that in the off-season.

Fields' father served in the military and was a police officer. To me this strong character will be a plus how he deals with the growth as an NFL QB. "Some" on the team might not think too kindly of it.

What's the evidence that Fields teammates dont like him?

Allen Robinson quit on the team this year. That's Fields fault?

Jimmy Graham hasn't been good since Obama was in office. That's Fields fault?

There is none. It's just a lazy narrative that allows nas to continue with a dubious theory.

When Fields throws them the ball during a game, instead of catching it they bat it to the ground like it has cooties

There's a lot of smoke. Football players rarely tell you exactly what they think. Listening to what they say and how it is said matters. The fact that his offensive line continues to allow him to be treated like McNown without standing up for him in any way is a major sign. How he's decided to ignore Allen Robinson even though he's the #1 option on some plays. What he said to Jimmy Graham when he told Fields to throw him the ball.

Allen Robinson has played 1 game since Week 9. Should Fields throw it to him on the sideline?

These issues existed before Robinson decided to get healthy for next season.

So when Fields hit Robinson on a dime to the endzone and Allen dropped an easy TD, that was Fields fault for not throwing more to him?

What does that have to do with my statement that Fields ignores Robinson on plays when he's the first read?

Cuz that sounds inaccurate to me. Robinson quit on Fields this year and everybody knows it, not the other way around.

A drop in Week 2 proves that what I posted is wrong? Nagy gently acknowledged this when asked about Robinson not being targeted. I didn't pull this out of my ass.

Briggs tweet is the smoke Nas is talking about.

Wonder if the Bears sent (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky packing instead of keeping him around was partly b/c he was popular in the locker room and they didn't want Fields to have to deal with his backup being more popular? It was strange that the Bears let (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky walk, could've kept him for less than they are paying Foles or Dalton. And Mitch is probably a better QB than either or all 3 of them at this point.

I don't think Robinson's attitude has anything to do with Fields. His agent has openly maligned the Bears for two seasons, even as his client loses every contested pass thrown to him.

I didn't see Briggs tweet, but I have eyes and ears. Fields has some relationship building to do in the off-season. I don't think he's a bad guy.
