Let me try to understand you Matt because I'm having a hard time doing it. You aren't worried about Benson even though he is averaging 2 ypc because of what he has done in the past. How many big games has Benson put up in his career? How many times has he had to carry the load and delivered? How many times has he been the "man"? Yet you believe he will be a difference maker. You really are being objective when it comes to Grossman.
Where did I say I believed he'd be a difference maker (*re-reads own post* nope, still not in there)? I said what I've seen of him in the past leads me to believe he could be well above average, and *possibly* a difference maker.

Rex looks like he did at the start of last season? REALLY? He still has bad mechanics and is throwing the ball into triple coverage? He is still completing about 40% of his passes?
Bear in mind he was only playing the start of the games: where he has traditionally played best. Being the gutless pud he is, he typically finishes poorly. And did you see his interception this last game? A stupid interception caused by bad mechanics. Yep, that's the Turnoverasaurus I remember.

When has he folded under pressure in the PRESEASON?
When he fumbled the second time in the second game. When he fumbled again in the very next game, after promising he wouldn't do it again. The very next game.

Wasn't the 49ers game a so called PRESSURE game? Did he fold?
Yes. He once again fumbled a snap. He can't correct it, Nas. It's the pressure. He for whatever reason gets flustered, and simply tries to get back too quickly. He's undoubtedly aware of the nature of the problem, and he cannot fix it regardless. That is because he simply folds under pressure. If San Francisco hadn't been so pathetically bad at rushing the passer, I expect he would have fumbled twice like he did the previous week.

Because Grossman struggled with pressure(every quarterback does)last year that has to mean he is going to do it this year.
I agree. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt going in. Even liked what I saw the first game. But when I saw him fumble the snap twice in the second game, I knew we had an indisputable Turnoverasaurus on our hands. His latest fumbled snap simply confirmed what I already knew.

He has been in so many pressure situations this PRESEASON and has folded so I can see how you feel he is going to choke during the season. Somehow the Bears won both of their playoff games with Grossman even though he had to deal with pressure situations in both games.
Let's face it: they won largely because their opponents were even more inept than they were. When they finally faced a competent opponent in the Superbowl, they got gang-raped, largely due to Rex's numerous errors no less.
Rex defenders always want to tell me about how he's young and inexperienced. But what they seem to be forgetting is that Rex had performances that were, literally, off-the-charts bad. It's not like concern over this guy is unwarranted or something: he was ridiculously bad in a quarter of the games last year, and ridiculously bad in the freaking Superbowl. And you still see the very same ridiculous mistakes, like failure to handle the snap. I just don't understand the optimism.
Even if he plays well for a number of games, history tells you that's no reason to feel confident with Rex: he's liable to revert into his Turnoverasaurus form at any given moment.
Do you really want a guy at the helm who you know is prone to play so poorly as to nearly guarantee a loss in 1/4 of his games?
