The Cowboys have granted the Bears permission to interview special teams coach Joe DeCamillis, a Dallas source told ESPN. DeCamillis shares a history with Emery as they worked together with the Atlanta Falcons.

The Bears also will interview Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy over the weekend and will also sit down with Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan, sources told ESPN. The team will also interview Falcons special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong, sources said.

Sounds like a perfect Bears 1st rd o-line pick.

gd and IB, curious what you guys thought about the Emery presser? Still wanting to fire him?

I started the thread on the day he was hired as a mock.

I liked his press conference.

I did not like his draft one bit. I didn't like it from day 1 as detailed in my draft day debates with dewski. His press conference reasoning does not make me feel better about him in talent evaluation. Decastro was my pick as well. They were lucky to have him fall to them.

Until Decastro actually plays we really do not know if Emery was right or wrong. Maybe Decastro is a bust.

If Emery had picked Decastro and he gets injured in the preseason here people would be bitching about that as well.

Yeah, I really wanted him too. He would have been a steal for a team like the Bears that needs some young LBs.

Burfict had 18 tackles last week.

The good thing about this is that Emery will not linger on like the last GM and 2-3 head coaches. THis is it. If Trestman ends up not working within three years, Emery is a dead duck, and deservedly so.

Yes because things always go as expected in the sports world.

Couple years ago Packer fans were THRILLED to get their new DC. Now, eh, not so much.

Obviously I have no clue how good a head coach Trestman will be. But how could your knee-jerk reaction not be to shake your head and laugh. Emery determined a CFL coach was the best candidate to lead the franchise.

Burfict was a bad guy. Still might be a bad guy, but probably realized being a bad ass doesnt pay well and once the gimmes were gone from ASU and he needed a job, he got his shit together enough to play in the NFL.

Talentwise after Junior year, he was a 1st round projected Draftee.

He's a bad guy who led the Bengals in tackles as a rookie and that was undrafted and could have been signed by anybody.

Plus, he wasn't really a bad guy off the field as far as I know. He was just an undisciplined maniac on the field. But, the reason he dropped wasn't because he was a bad guy. It was because he ran a 14.8 40 in the predraft workouts. If he'd ran 4.5, I'll bet he would have been a "misunderstood talent" that could use some coaching.

Besides, the Bears could use a few bad guys on the field. Not all these marijuana kingpin, gun maniac, FBI fighting, Lambo crashing do-gooders.

I have a source familiar with him. He isn't said to be a bad guy. Possibly a little mentally slower than most but not a bad guy. He played out of control at ASU on the field but they had no reason to defend him and said he was a good guy off the field.

This is a great indicator for Emery that Trestman has almost all of the coaches locked in and ready to go. It is a marked difference in the way Lovie hired.

I should have put 12.4 so that people knew it was hyperbole and not a typo. I think it was like 5.1 or 5.2. It was like the slowest time of any non-OL and many offensive linemen were faster.

Emery has shown he has no issues busting out the check book with Matt Forte, Jason Campbell, Michael Bush, Kellen Davis and Henry Melton.

Should be fun to see who gets overpaid to underwhelm this year.

I wouldn't say Bush underwhelmed either. I wouldnt go so far as to say he overwhelmed. But I think he pretty much whelmed.

Lovie had no idea how to use Bush. Tice had no idea how to draw up a play that worked for him either.

Forte never should have been signed, it was dumb..Bryan even yourself acknowledged how backs are a dime a dozen last year.

If Emery resign urlacher n Hester he sucks n should be fired.
