He did the betting on yourself one year deal last year because teams didn't love him and he lost. Hasn't a good season since AB was on the team. If he's cheap, sure, but I wouldn't expect much.

I wouldn't expect any of these guys on the market to get big deals. The Bears appear to be trying to sign every receiver to a short-term deal. I'm okay with that.

St. Brown is terrible. He was cut last year and hung around because of the weird covid allowances on the PS. He is big but he doesn't play fast, not a great route runner, has had alot of drops and also penalty prone. I have seen plenty of him and at best you are getting a blocking wr. He is NOTHING like his brother in Detroit. He will probably get cut but he gives Getsy a familiar face help run his offense. He is a smart guy so he might be there to help install the offense more than anything.

It happened in the play-offs.

It didn't heal apparently

And it required surgery.

I guess it’s a positive they cut bait…Pace would’ve forged ahead, and then when the foot didn’t heal, he’d claim it was a “new” injury.

Former Colts’ DE Al-Quadin Muhammad reached agreement on a two-year, $10 million deal, per source. Muhammad will reunite in Chicago with Bears’ HC Matt Eberflus.

I'm starting to like the way things are shaping up for next year.

Six wins, at best. The offense will still struggle and the defense will be a sieve transitioning back to the 4-3.

Jarvis Landry still out there and Rams might trade Robert Woods.

If Mooney is decent I’m not sure I’d want them going after a name slot guy. I’d rather see them sign a legit vet with some size at this point, even if it’s a past-his-prime kind of guy.

I don't think that the NFC North is particularly strong.

But to answer your question, the defensive scheme, the abilities of the current roster to play it, the Packers trading Adams. the Vikings upping Cousins with little help so far for a porous defense and the fact that Matt F@ckin Nagy is gone.

I'm still hopeful he will get a WR in the draft as well.

SKOR North
@SKORNorth
ODDS: The Minnesota Vikings currently have the second best odds to win the NFC North at +300, per DraftKings.

Packers -190
Bears +750
Lions +1200

Finishing 3rd in a bad division isn't really anything to get excited about. Beyond that the Bears replaced Mack, A-Rob, Goldman, Daniels, Trevathan, Grant, Cohen & probably Hicks & Peters with back-up level players on short term contracts. Improving through the draft is certainly a reasonable hope but the Bears currently rank 23rd in draft capital, while the Lions, Packers and Vikings rank 5,6 & 13 respectively. But Nagy is gone, so there's that.

every signing seems to point to 2023

all short term deals for young guys coming off modest but high points in their careers

The second round is a sweet spot to get receivers.

If Fields takes a huge step up then certainly 2023 is in play. If he doesn't then it's 2024. There's nothing wrong with that if the new management drafts well. Hoping for this season seems like a pipe dream however...even to Eberflus.

It can be, but not usually in the 1st year.

Poles doesn’t seem the type to spend an early pick on WR. I think they’re just kind of screwed at the position at this point.

Yeah I think anyone expecting him to use a 2nd round pick on a WR is going to be disappointed. It will be a lineman.

It probably should be. Without the QB, the WR doesn't matter. If Fields is good, whoever they sign will also be good.

Again, I agree but I do think the Bears will be competitive next year.
