Fox couldn't win with one of, if not the greatest QB, of our generation and got downright assfucked in the SB then bows out to the Colts.

This team will suck to high-fucking-heaven for the next 5-7 years.

Might as well make GB and Detroit fight it out for the NFC North from here on out.

He is literally the exact opposite of any head coach the Bears have ever hired.

He will restore order to the locker room and respectablility to the field.

I have a suspicion he will be an A to B coach and not the guy to win a Super Bowl.

It's 100% a safe hire that will move the Bears in the right direction. It's still all on Pace though to bring in the right guys.

There really isn't that A to B stuff in the NFL for coaches. There are elite (not Fox) and then there are others. In the NFL these days you get to the playoffs and hope you are hot and lucky (see NY Giants).

That's probably the best thing about hiring an experienced HC.

Guys with experience aren't threatened by experienced coordinators.

I agree, I don't think Green Bay will have much of a fight at all.

Because I'm a Bears fan. Not sure why this is difficult for you to understand.

I don't want an A to B coach and I don't give a shit about respectability. I want this team to win football games and win a SB again before I die.

John Fox is just another "meh" hire which is to say, safe. He'll get nothing out of this defense and Jay Fuckface will still be Jay Fuckface.

How long is this contract?

It's a pretty safe pick. It probably guarantees Pace another HC selection, as no one can really second-guess and say "you hired WHO?"

And you don't know how to a.) Use the internet (what's a three technique guys?) and b.) how to have a conversation with someone who is obviously being over the top.

Also I hold a undergrad degree in Biochemistry and a Masters in Food Science and Human Nutrition. I also live in a pretty nice home too.

So again, go fuck yourself.

Absolutely. He's probably thinking he needs a good 3 years to transform the roster so he's avoiding another Trestman type disaster that gets him axxed. I would have done the same.

Gary Kubiak doesn't entice you or Gase/Quinn/Bowles?

I think a Fox-led Bears will be a "blob team" until his contract runs out.

The irony of bashing the Fox hire and then pining for Kubiak, what da fuck has Kubiak won as a head coach?

Bumpkin,

I think Fox may be the first coach ever hired by the Bears with NFL head coaching on his resume, other than George Halas.

So, that is hardly a Bears thing.

Kubiak declined the Bears request for an interview.

Gase/Quinn/Bowles could be great or awful. I'm happy hiring a good to very good coach to watch over the roster transformation over the next few years. This team is about to get very young and having an experienced coach is a good thing.

You are all correct in that Fox has coaching experience. He just seems like Lovie 2.0 and he was successful because of Goober.

I really don't know how this will all pan out, it just seems like the easy way out. I liked the Ravens under Kubiak and would have liked to see him as coach.

Yeah, Kubiak as a head coach never got it done.

Can we agree to disagree? Or do I need to go fuck myself?

That whole "I don't want to coach the Bears" thing may have been a deal breaker with Kubiak.
