Not exactly well run organizations.

Well run organizations aren't generally looking for new GMs.

Correct. Because they hire the right people.

Sounds like he bombed his interview and then withdrew.

DaBearsBlog?

More likely - He "bombed" his interviews with Chicago, Cleveland and Carolina or thought "what a clown show" and said I'm out.

"went terribly" is very undefined. Went terribly because he doesn't want Fields. Went terribly because he wants the McCaskeys to go sit in the corner. Etc.

How hard can it be to see who's drafted the most impact players in the last five years and interview those guys? Sure, the organization can make players great. But drafting is a skill. Who's drafted the most OL talent in the last five years?

Which job is better? He interviewed with Carolina the year before and they passed. Cleveland already has a GM.

From what I read, he withdrew from Carolina and Cleveland also after being interviewed.

He's another guy you can do a deeper dive on through Hard Knocks. Seems like a red ass type.

We laugh at Sir when he very publicly says he's withdrawing his name from consideration preemptively because he knows he wasn't getting it.

Harbaugh reportedly would accept a job in Vegas if it's offered to him and he doesn't care about the money.

That's been a done deal for a while unless Michigan pays up.

I liked Mully's line this morning: "Harbaugh is the kind of candidate you hire, not interview."

why would you make a head coach do a mock interview? so the bears are a libtard artistic version of a gay drag show?

bears: hi jim, long time no see

harbaugh: well i've been on tv

bears: please do a press conference for us. we never saw you on tv. my son installed this apple tv thing and it's amazing how much hard core rotten cock you can see on there, i dont have time for anything else

I was just catching up on the thread today.

Recent history suggests you will get your packer schadenfreude soon

I don't think Harbaugh flirting with the NFL is about the $$$. Michigan already has
a fat extension on the table. Reportedly Harbaugh's more concerned about getting institutional support for NIL and
beefing up his assistants pay and number of hires.

Regarding the Bruce Feldman report that Harbaugh would take the Las Vegas job. It's on the Athletic's site. It's a crap report that by the end refutes itself. Harbaugh traded in the courtesy rides he and his wife get from a local dealer last week for new ones and he recently hired that Notre Dame coordinator to be his D-Line coach. That doesn't sound like a guy about to peace out for the NFL.

I’m all in on Smith at this point. Provided he doesn’t want Bill O’Brien again, I’ll trust him on the coach pick.

That's how I read the first report. Hub's comments to Kap makes it sound like there could be smoke. Hub is connected to Michigan and Harbaugh.

What leads you to believe that Hub is connected to Harbaugh other than the fact that he claims to be connected to Harbaugh?

Hub told us for years that he "knew for a fact" that Ted Phillips wasn't involved with the Bears' football operations before George McCaskey revealed that Ted Phillips has in fact been involved with the Bears' football operations for years.

Hub also told us that "his sources" said that Ryan Pace is more likely to be promoted than fired right before he was fired.

Hub is an equivocating fountain of misinformation who has been allowed to become ubiquitous within mainstream sports media channels because he is an obsequious--though bumbling--servant of the status quo. Like so many of the other cackling cretins who crowd the corridors of the media establishment, Hub may be nominally a journalist, but his carefully cultivated lack of curiosity and skepticism has rendered him nothing more than a stenographer to power.

He's a Michigan guy and he claims to have spoken to Harbaugh. I think Harbaugh was his source but he claimed to have spoken with someone else.

Jay Glazer had the Pace thing wrong too and he's very plugged in. Something happened.

Hub is a singular figure in the Chicago sports media landscape. Never in the history of local radio has someone used so many words to say so little. He is a man without information, without stories, without thoughts--and yes, without sources. I wouldn't trust him to look out a window and accurately report on weather conditions. And I sure ain't gonna believe anything he has to say about Harbaugh--though truth be told, in typical Hub fashion, he talked about Harbaugh without actually saying anything about him or his job situation.

He may occasionally strongly refute something, but he often sounds like he's afraid to do what he gets paid to do. Even when he talked about his MVP voting decision he came off as timid until Parkins pushed him enough. Quit if you don't want to report the news or give your opinion.

The only thing he strongly refutes is himself. To wit:
