Here's Tiki being bad at broadcasting and having to interview Eli after the Super Bowl.

There are probably 10 quarterbacks in this "era" who will get in before Eli.

Drew Brees is still questionable about his status in the HOF. That shows how far Eli is away.

I know. I'm just saying it's not a definite "NO" for Eli just yet. He's gonna play for another 10 years probably. He's got a SB. That helps.

I can't bring myself to get behind a new HC like Frazier, Bates, or Heimerdinger either. Even if some of these guys are considered retreads/not successful for 10 years/superbowl winners without doing anything I still prefer them.

I agree with you on this. I dont want a first time HC either. I would reluctantly take Shanny over them as well.

Huh, I don't know that I'd put Brees in there...Maybe I'm just old and have an exaggerated view of the past.

If he does 80% of what he's done in the last 5 seasons for another 5 seasons, he's in.

Too many people get in the HOF. It should be more selective. 20 years from now when I'm talking about QBs I doubt I'll think of Brees. Unless they win a few, even with what they have done the past few years, they are forgetable. That's not HOF to me.

If Brees wins a Super Bowl or if he plays another 5 years at his last 4 year average he's in.

That's why I said he's questionable. He's easily on pace with statistics alone. 50,000 yards passing by age 35 and 300 tds.

Pittsburgh rests on Roethlisberger, at least the second time. Bettis is in.

Spaulding + Bernsie = match

You know what's amazing about Favre? He 1,000 yards from 70,000 and 7 TDs from 500. If he comes back next year he'll do both. It's amazing. When I was a kid, 40k was considered "great" for a career. He's got 70k. 300 TDs was considered "great" for a career. He's close to 500.

Just to give some perspective, Joe Montana has 40,551 yards and 273 TDs

I know Favre has played forever and has never missed a game but that's to his credit.

what's more amazing is peyton will eclipse both marks and has a shot at favre's starts streak.

Jay Cutler might beat his 317.

I know. He might. Brady won't. Health is a big assumption, however. Not everybody can do what Favre has done in his late 30s. Not everybody can stay healthy. Luck is a huge part of it.

The 1998 Falcons didn't have a HOF offensive player IIRC.

2003 Panthers rests on Steve Smith, and I don't see that happening.

At this point, it might be easier to list Super Bowl teams in the last decade that had a HOF offensive player:

Patriots.
Colts.

Warner is in for the Cardinals. Bettis and Walter Jones from 2005. Terrell Owens, eventually, from the Eagles, and possibly McNabb. Rice and Tim Brown from the Raiders in 2002. Warner, Faulk, Bruce, and Orlando Pace from the 2001 and 1999 Rams.

Yeah. No way Smith makes it. Not with the numbers "Great" WRs have put up since the 90s. Smith only has 50 career TDs in 9 seasons. Randy Moss had half of that in one season. Smith highest total for a season is 12. The only time he's been in double digits.

Wide receivers are going to get seriously boned over the coming years. There's going to be a huge backlog of guys, and they're going to refuse to admit more than one a term. Some aren't going to make it.

Chris Carter didn't make it his first year eligible. He'll make it eventually. He deserves to go in. Andre Reed's numbers are great and he'll probably never make it.

Bruce Mathews - Yes. George and McNair - No chance.

George just because he got beat up and couldn't last.

Unless Eli can somehow channel his Brother the next 8 years, the only way Eli is going to the HOF is as a visitor.

Here's a good question. How many teams have went to a Super Bowl without having one offensive player that went on to make the HOF?

The 2006 Bears would qualify unless Olin Kruetz makes the HOF and I don't think he will. That Ravens team had Shannon Sharpe. He's going to the HOF.

You might be thinking the 1985 Patriots. I don't know about their O-line but they had Irving Fryer. He might make the HOF but probably not. So that's another answer.

John Hannah was inducted into the HOF in 1991. Good old #73.
