Sure Long is a reach but I don't think he is a stiff. I would make sure he has a support system in place here immediately.

Both LB will eventually start for this team and Greene gives you insulation when Briggs puts a power play on to get extended.

Zach Zaidman said yesterday that Brandon Hardin wouldn't have made the team last year if he had been healthy for the final cutdown. He seems to think that McClellin and Jeffrey will be the sole picks from Emery's first draft to make the team this year. Meanwhile, it is now being reported that McClellin is suffering from plantar fasciitis.

Long was a good pick

He passed up many players at premium positions. If Long goes to tackle then yes you're right. But if he sticks at guard and continues his Pro-Bowl performance I don't care. I'll take the above-average but non-pro bowl corner, d-tackle or linebacker.

I'm all for trolling Bear fans, but I don't think it works here. Unless it's a kicker or punter, a pro bowl pick in the first round is a good pick. And the Bears needed OL help. You have to really try to find fault with the Long pick.

Not trolling at all. Emery hired a "guru" in Kromer who has a track record of developing mid-round picks into servicable and Pro-Bowl offensive linemen. Why then use a 1st rounder? Especially when you had players like Xavier Rhodes, Tyler Eifert, Shariff Floyd, Desmond Trufant, Alec Ogletree on the board. Stupidity.

At least they finally made the correct decision to move Shea to outside LB.

I've stayed consistent on the stupidity of the Long pick since it was announced by Goodell. It's more of a criticism of Emery's drafting philosphy than anything else. He's an idiot.
