Three shoulder surgeries already. He is ready for his IR slot.

All that drawing on the wall for a tight end who carries a UDFA grade and a cornerback who will probably never see the field because his shoulder is falling off.

Kmet is not slow. If you watched the ND games this year he plays vs big competition. Come on...

TEs take time. They usually don’t contribute much as rookies and their mistakes tend to be more glaring. I don’t think he helps them much in 2020 but he might be a fine pro.

You guys are way too down on Kmet

Not athletic? He’s a two sport letterman at a major university

Needs to bum up? He’s 265 already and has room for 10 pounds more without losing speed

Well yeah, in order to lose speed you need to have it in the first place.

He's Anthony Miller's bookend. They have two good shoulders between the two of them.

The Bears really needed a wide receiver with one of these second-round picks. Looks like it's gonna be another long season in 2020. Bring on COVID-19 Part II!

Would have been there at 50. Stupid fucking pick and not the most pressing need on this team.

I hate Pace.

Agreed. They should have grabbed Grant Delpit there at 43, Kmet is almost certainly still there at 50. You get a need and a difference make there with Delpit. Pace is a fucking clown shoe and will be gone after this year along with ‘be you’.

How on Earth do you draft a db who’s already had multiple surgeries a few picks after you could have drafted one who is rated much higher, did it in the most talented conference in the nation, and actually specializes in an area you desperately need -safety?

Just dumb. I guess that goof we signed from Canada and the guys we grabbed in last years draft aren’t shit at db.. further confirming Pace can’t spot talent.

Best wide receiver depth in living memory and the Bears draft a tight end who is slow and soft then a cornerback who is falling apart physically. I knew they wouldn't draft OL, but I didn't expect them to just throw away these picks.

His 40 time at the Combine was .1 sec slower than Kelce's and .2 sec slower than Kittle's.

I would have rather had Diggs.

All everyone keeps saying is "Johnson had 1st round talent".

THERE'S A REASON HE WASN'T DRAFTED IN THE FIRST ROUND.

I hate taking players who have already been hurt and a cb with shoulder issues makes me cringe

Still the bears got two starters out of this draft

I just think there were starters at more impactful positions available

Now sign a veteran safety and they are great at all three levels of defense

Johnson gets an extra year to heal in the missed season

And Kmet can’t lose athleticism in the off year. Great planning for the future.

There is a small chance Kmet develops into being a rosterable third string tight end.

He’s more of an all around TE than Kelce who seems to be more of a pass catcher. I think Kmet will be fine in the NFL and settle into a dependable type of player.. but like some others have said th most likely could have had him at 50 leaving open the possibility of grabbing a higher value player there at 43 like Delpit.

That said, all draft guides I’ve seen this year list Kmet as the best TE in this years class for whatever that’s worth. I don’t think it’s a wasted pick.

Kmet is very likely not starting this year.

Johnson seems like he could be a good player.
