The "Small Subset" was based on the astronomical ratings that he had throwing for 20+ yards. With most "experts" asserting that the "small subset" was based upon shitty play calling and terrible personnel at the skill positions. And not Fieds. And I'm comfortable with that assessment by the way.

Outside of Stevenson, he carved up a secondary filled with backups. Most of the backups don't suck, so it's a little encouraging. I'm more interested in how he's seeing things.

i doubt hes trying. we saw he didnt try at the end of last season. i do worry he will get a shock when the season starts, but i also think if that happens he will be full throttle by december. he seems like he knows when to press the gas, and PRACTICE isnt it.

I keep hearing, "Give him 6 to 9 games" to adjust to the demands of the NFL. Maybe this is unfair, but I can't give him that. He's gotten about a 6 week headstart from what most draft picks would get. The Bears fed him material before he was drafted. He's also gotten all of the first team reps. I believe every other draft pick is sharing reps, or they're getting 2nd and 3rd string reps. I'm not demanding that he look like Mahomes and Burrow right away, but I won't wait half the season for him to look competent. We should see that almost immediately, even if he is making some rookie mistakes with the processes of playing quarterback.

I'm just trolling on Bagent... but seriously, I was okay with Caleb sitting on the bench for a year to really understand the offense and get in a share of first-team reps. I recognize it will never happen, but it worked from Mahomes and Rodgers.
