That's a pretty meaningless distinction, especially because a QB can do very little to make sure that his team isn't down by X amount of scores

CJ Stroud's team avg 14 point during the First Half of Games
Caleb Williams's avg 7.

Through 3 Quarters CJs avg 18 points per game while Caleb's avg 11

I (along with anyone with a functioning brain) can see why these particular stats alone would go a long way towards determining whether their teams are down 2 scores or more

How do these stats impact how many points opposing offenses are allowed to score? Touchdowns are fungible, it doesn't matter where nor in what context they are scored.

Well if one team is avg 14 during the first half of games while the other is scoring 7 then the opposition would have to score at least 23 by half time for it to be a 2 score game, while in the other case they'd only have to score 16. Thus increasing the likelihood of the team that only scores 7 on avg being down 2 scores more often than the team that scores 14 or more.

Needless to say that if Caleb's first half offensive output wasn't so shitty, then his team wouldn't be down 2 scores or more as often as they are.

How many possessions for each being down by two scores or more?

How Many games has Houston scored 3 points or less by Halftime? Bears are currently at 8 such games

I dont really care who says the bears defense is good, its just a demonstrably false statement. they are clearly below average by any reputable way to measure a defense

They were much better until they decided to fire Eberflus..And their points allowed (which is still the most important metric with any defense regardless of what anyone here says) was damn good for most of the season.

The Bears anemic offense has been the problem throughout the season. Not the defense. In fact if you just simply look at the scores and not the "narrative" provided by CFMB posters, you'll see that they held some pretty high powered offenses well below their avg. 1st Detroit game Detroit scored 10 points less than their season avg. Washington held to 9-10 points below their avg. 15 if you discount the Hail Mary. Your Beloved Packers only scored 20 points.

Minnesota was below their season avg in points during the First game as well.

It's been the offense that has sucked ass the entire season however. I can easily pick 5-6 games that they would have won had they simply had a serviceable offense.

The drop off after firing Matt Eberflus is apparent team-wide. Everyone is much worse, except Caleb who is just bad like he’s always been.

Caleb Williams' play today might of helped Poles keep his job. CW has done good overall considering the coaching & OL mess he's walked into. Poles has lost any new coach final say from Eberflus' brain dead clock management.

It was still the right thing to do, and it further proves the point that Eberflus needed to go that the remains of his staff are a bunch of morons too.

Williams was okay this week for a guy with no defense or offensive line to help him out. He had some moments for sure, but the stakes were never high.

I was in DC so didn't see a down of Bears football. I did, however, see Daniels get in to garbage time being down 14 in the first quarter largely because of him. Then garbage time became not garbage time and I sat there with my over priced, nutritionless food in a state of confusion

I can forgive garbage time if the team actually wins.

By definiton if your play result's in you tieng or wining than its not garbage time dumb ass. Calebs comebacks against Minnesota Detroit and green bay the first time around wasnt garbage time.

What matters is that they are scored, despite how exciting it might get, the situation is irrelevant in comparison.

Williams play yesterday was fool's gold. The only time that the Bears achieve positive play is when they are trailing by 17 or more points and the opposition is subbing and playing soft.

His QBR was an abysmal 39 against the woeful Lions D. He's 26th in the NFL in this stat. Something Something, Peyton Manning's rookie season.

EPA 26th, QBR 26th on Sunday. And just so you know, Peyton Manning sucked last century.
