Is it diagnosed and does he do anything to prevent it or is it just the everyday anxiety that everyone feels?

I picture him and Parkey in the bathroom at Halas like the two traders in the bathroom in Trading Places talking about their maladies

 Can you imagine if Parkey went to Nagy before the final FG try and said he had some "crazy anxiety" and couldn't go out for the kick?

I know people have legitimate mental health issues, but where do you draw the line?

I mean if it's legit, you cant really draw the line. You can force them to perform but they'll probably suck.

You can insist they get some professional help including methods for coping.

I am sure he has had help with coping mechanisms and possibly medicine. But that does not always mean they work as they should.

My oldest has struggled with anxiety issues and they are crazy deals. Sometimes no matter what you do they still get you. She has played basketball in district championships with huge crowds and had no issues....other times that seem stress free such as watching a movie with friends and an attack hits her. There will be months with no issues and then in one day you can have three.

I feel for him if this is the issue. Crazy frustrating deal.

Anxiety causes groin problems? Or are we saying the the groin problem was made up? Cuz if it's made up, there sure was a helluva cover up story and bunches of people have to be in on it.

Back in his prime we would have already gotten a "He's rich, what does he have to be anxious about?" post from IMU.

Only $18M guaranteed + NFL players are notoriously stupid and blow their cash within a couple years after they break down. Burton should already be worried about which station, NBC or Fox Chicago, will take him as a Sunday night contributor after each Bears loss in 2025. Cause enough for anxiety right there.

Or he had a groin problem flare up and he was injured.

Yesterday he said he had some groin pain on Friday and when he woke up on Saturday his body had "locked up", and when his body senses something is wrong it "locks up" as a way of protecting itself from further injury.

Burton on with Kap Tuesday. He's had anxiety for many years. Got bad anxiety when he was supposed to pass on a trick play this year. Nagy had to rearrange the play. Says this past weekend it was a physical condition he gets that his normal stiffness escalates and freezes up on him. Not an anxiety issue during the bears/eagles game.

I'm glad to hear its not anxiety. As a human being, I feel bad for anyone that deals with it. It has affected my family and friends in some major ways. As a Bears fan, I couldnt care less about anything personal with players. You are an interchangeable piece, I cheer for the uniform. The person wearing the uniform means less than nothing to me, fuck your feelings and play like the football robot you should be. My brain is a strange place, even I'm scared wandering around up there.

It can be done.

I know people who have anxiety issues and I try to avoid conversations about it because I always manage to say the wrong thing even when I am actively trying not to. I just pray that I never end up in a life or death situation and need their assistance. #MrInsensitive

I have often found my anxiety issues to virtually disappear when there isn’t time to think and you just have to do. I’m more a paralysis by analysis anxiety guy.

You're right. I have PTSD and sometimes go through sort of anxiety attacks. It is a really bad thing when you go through this shit. You're really not rational and do shit or think shit that you normally would not do in a million years.

See, Hawk, that statement implies that there actually are times where you are rational and you do not think crazy shit.

We've read enough of you to know that you are batshit crazy 99.99% of the time.
