Not bitter at all. Like every draft there will be busts and great players. I just get a kick out of you and dolphin going the super hot take route of "the entire draft class sucks" which is laughably stupid. To dolphin's credit he didn't go as hard as you did and pointed out at least a couple strong position groups.

It's a weak class though.

Nah this isn't the NBA. There's gonna be a lot of good players drafted.

Which I prefaced my post with. Thanks for agreeing with me in the end!

So the entire class doesn't suck and it's essentially the same as any other year then? Thanks for agreeing with me and wasting our time in the process!

The "entire class sucks" quote was the scouts not mine. I just cited the article, because yes, the consensus in the biz, is this class is pretty bad in terms of elite talent. Again, I know it's not what you want to hear. But if you want to tell yourself it's a legit ass draft, go ahead.

That’s not the consensus at all. It’s just a dumb quote by a scout that doesn’t make any fuckin sense if you put a half second of thought into it.

This isn’t the NBA where a draft class is like 20 guys and filler. There’s no such thing as a weak NFl draft class. Some are stronger than others but to act like 60 of the top 64 guys picked will suck is just a nonsensical opinion. I’m not even sure why I’m bothering to respond to it

Quinnen Williams is the best player in the draft IMO. Don't agree on WRs either. Harry and both Browns will be good players. There's some good mid round prospects like Isabella too.

I, and I think the rest of the world, sees Hollywood as Desean Jackson. Sure, that is a viable NFL player. However, its also a one trick pony type of player and he might be the best of the group. Him being a first rounder I think is a testament to the weakness of the group. It doesn't mean that he will be a buster.

If you can take DeSean Jackson 2.0 in the 1st round you do it 10x out of 10. You run the card up to the podium. 10 years, 10k+ receiving yards and counting. He's a damn good football player. "viable NFL player" is a pretty big understatement.

He is on team #4 of his NFL career. He has an NFL skill but I wouldn't call him a great WR. I wouldn't consider him a #1 WR at any point in his career.

If you catch over 1300 yards and 9 TDs you were a #1 WR that year.

and yet, he was with a different team the next year...replaced by the great Jeremy Maclin who had what...yes, you guessed it, the same 1,300 yd 10 td season

It's terrible analysis. The NFL Draft has elite talent every year. The only difference this year is that dumbass scout has to work to find the talent.

My guess, with Pagano's expertise being in DB play, is that if the Bears go D with their first pick, that they will be taking a DB.

Should they go offense, my guess is that they will go RB.

Here is my official know nothing outsider guess: Trayveon Williams, RB, Texas A and M

Boom!

Nah I’m still on the bold side of “some good players will be drafted in the first round.” Lots of luck to you on the opposite side my friend.

Does anybody think Murray won't be a bust?

I suppose the recent rules changes in the NFL have made it more likely that a smaller guy like Murray who make plays with his legs can succeed whereas in the past he would not have been able to stay healthy because he'd get hit so much (and so hard) playing that style of QB. He probably won't get hit as much, or has hard, these days.

Are the Cardinals really giving up on Josh Rosen so quickly? Is he that bad, or are they that enamored with Kyler Murray? Rosen was surrounded by a team full of garbage, so what did they expect him to do? It sounds like Rosen has handled all of this very professionally, so I hope he goes to the Patriots and he and Belichick win several Super Bowls after Brady retires.

"Re-drafting" the Quarterback position seems a way now for NFL GMs to buy themselves extra time when they are on the brink of being fired. Then you hire an "offensive minded" coach to match the QB you drafted(or plan to draft), and you get an extension because a good QB whisperer of a coach is surely not going to sign with a lame duck GM. You are selling "hope" and the concept of "not upsetting the apple cart" while trying to develop said quarterback. And by the time everyone figures out the coach and quarterback suck, you have banked yourself 3 extra years of being a "GM" in the NFL.

 You want to see the Patriots win several more titles? Fuck that.

I think Murray will be good but it doesn't make sense to me either how the Cardinals are handling this. Last year Rosen had his OC fired after a few weeks and his head coach fired after a single season on the job, and by the last few weeks of the year he was playing behind 5 backup offensive linemen (every starting OL on the team got hurt). There's no possible way to fairly evaluate him after a single season like that. If I was GB I'd give up the 44th overall pick for him in a heartbeat.

Giving a 1st round pick for Deshon Kizer, and 2nd for Josh Rosen in back to back years. Definitely a blueprint for the Superbowl

Remember when the Packers used to trade off shitty excess Quarterbacks? Instead of hoarding them?

We traded our own locker room cancer draft bust Demarious Randall for Kizer. LOL you really thought we traded a 1st for Kizer? Sit this one out and let the men discuss football Bob.

Packers drafted a guy with their first rounder (Randall) and then traded after 3 years to the Browns for a shitty backup QB. That's not really in the Beleciek franchise building book, is it?

Deshon Kizer is a terrible Quarterback. If you had as much interest in the football team in South Bend as you do the stud muffin of a mayor, you would have realized this.

I didn’t personally make the trade myself Bob. You won’t find any quotes of my saying Kizer is/was good. As I said, maybe take a break. Football clearly isn’t your game.

Thinking about this more, I think the Bears really like Davis and are not going to reach on a RB. I think they are going defensive back first.

Last time I doubted a small player was Tarik Cohen.. I think Murray will be a good player, he’s pretty much the same size as Baker Mayfield and Baker didn’t look lost last year. Today’s offenses have a lot of movement/moving pockets and so on that also rely on QB’s who can improvise when plays break down. The days of the stereotypical pocket passer aren’t gone, but offense is evolving in a way that’s more user friendly for guys that are smaller as long as they’re put in the right system.

Not sure he’ll go #1, but he’ll be fine at the next level provided the system he winds up running isn’t shit that doesn’t suit his skill set.
