I like him and 49. Burton has to be back because of his contract.

The Bears will save one million against the cap by cutting Burton

He has 2 useful players on offense and 1 can't be counted on to be in the right position. Every receiver he had during his rookie season is literally out of football. The Bears haven't exactly given him Hopkins or Hill.

He was a killer, but not a serial killer. You can kill multiple people and not be a serial killer, you know.

No fucking way Burton comes back. Get his ass out of here. If he succeeds somewhere else, so be it. What a waste.

No! If I kill my wife and my two kids in a crime of passion, they aren't going to say I am a serial killer. A serial killer has to commit a series of kills in order to qualify.

Ok my bad. I thought I read that somewhere.

I’m sorry you’re having thoughts of killing your family.

One wife so far.

One kid so far.

No homicidal thoughts so far.

Very happy.

They return to that third place schedule that helped them to 12-4 last year. Packers have been living off of it this year. The one constant is really the Vikings sitting there in second place.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was always coming back next year. No reason not to bring him back even if you trade up with your two high second round picks(Thanks Gruden!) to get another qb.

It's a really hard decision whether to give him the 5th year option.

Giving him the 5th year option is smart. It's insurance against his flashes of greatness becoming consistent. If he sucks next year or you draft a better option, you can still release him and it won't cost you a $1.

I think you can still do that even if you give him the 5th year. Correct me if I'm wrong but there is no cap hit if you cut a 5th year guy.

Everyone knows how this is going to play out, correct? We are just stating aspirations.

He will get the fifth year and he will be the starter at least at the beginning of next year.

Meh, the 2 games that resulted from the first place schedule were a completely average Rams and the Saints without Brees, while the Pack got a decent game against the Panthers but also got the improved 49ers.

That guy should be ashamed to show his face at Halas Hall after seeing a warrior like Hicks take the field yesterday. He won't. He's mentally weak so he'll blame it on his illness, and his body and...

The truth is, the Bears could have and should have been a double digit victory team this year.

Packers are undefeated against the division. That helps more than a 3rd place schedule

third place schedule allows you to take a breath

The division is stacked. None are elite teams but all are good to very good. Even a healthy Lions team can hurt you. They were starting to look like a complete offense for the first time in forever before Kerryon went down.

With the two 2nd round picks I’d be looking at O-line and finding another D lineman with a similar skill set to Hicks.

TE needs to be addressed as our #2 or 3 main concern imo depending on how important you feel another really good D lineman is.

We need to hit free agency looking to add another pass rusher to compliment Mack too.. maybe you can find one in the draft too.

LB needs to be looked at too with both Floyd and Trevathan most likely not returning.

And I know people won’t necessarily agree with this but.. I’d be looking to draft guys mainly from the SEC and Big 10 -especially lineman. You aren’t hurting your team by loading it’s roster up with guys from Bama, Ohio St and so on..

I maintain drafting a player from Ashland in the 2nd round should be a fireable offense, on the spot.

Curious Hair was right....Bears firmly entrenched in football hell. 9-7 for the 2020 season would be optimistic.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky will be back. Nas is right....no cap hit if they opt to cut him prior to the 5th year. Despite him being an average at best game manager, you keep him. Now....they have to find a different answer to QB...but will they? They can't scout QB's....they have no draft capital to get one. I doubt they even have the trade capital.

If Nick Foles is still sitting on the bench, that's the only chance to MAYBE upgrade. Gonna cost a lot, and I'm not entirely confident he's the answer either. I know all of the other rejects that have been kicked around are certainly not the answer.

This. Sucks.

Eh, kinda sorta maybe. The schedule appears to be a bit easier next season;

Home
Detroit Lions
Green Bay Packers
Minnesota Vikings
New Orleans Saints
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Houston Texans
Indianapolis Colts
Redskins/Giants (3rd place team in NFC East)

Away
Tennessee Titans
Minnesota Vikings
Jacksonville Jaguars
Detroit Lions
Green Bay Packers
Los Angeles Rams (3rd place team in NFC West)
Carolina Panthers
Atlanta Falcons

I see 7 wins. If they overachieve....there's your 9-7
