I'd be thrilled if he is Taylor Heineke

Eberflus is coaching for his next coordinator job. So far so good.

Nobody wants his stale, ineffective Tampa 2

You notice a few things when you go back and watch the Lovie era Cover-2 vs the Eberflus "era".

The first thing you notice is that the Lovie coached teams looked to be playing the defense at three to four times the speed they do today, guys got into drops, linebackers flew around and hit gaps, and the defensive line got off the ball and attacked the gaps. This years team looks lost, you see guys looking around and wondering where to line up and then being 3-5 yards off their drops which opens up easy passing lanes. Then of course there is no pass rush so teams can wait for even deeper secondary crossers to hit the gap in the zone between the safety and CB.

You of course had Urlacher prowling the middle, taking away short zone passes and filling run lanes, they paid the current MLB a ton of money, but he is barely more than an average player and the Bills recognized that and had no problem with him leaving.

It seems the opposing OC's know this defense better than Eberflus and are able to easily move down the field when they are in Cover-2 because they are terrible at disguising coverages, seems this is because his players are either poorly coached or just dumb because you see numerous blown coverages.

This is a poorly coached team with bad talent and zero leadership at the GM, HC, or at the player levels, and you are two years in to a rebuild with very little signs of progress, you could do no worse than this current group and everyone knows it.

Not just play calling, the players frequently miss assignments which points to piss poor coaching.

Wondering who is determining snap counts, would seem the GM would start talking to Eberflus about sitting some of the non-productive vets and talking a look at younger guys, but the GM picked these guys, so he does not seem to have much ability in pro scouting, and has whiffed on quite a few DB's in the early rounds.

Interesting to hear the local goofs already trying to make excuses for Fields, many of them will look even more foolish if an UDFA comes in and is able to run a more productive offense than Fields. You hear them wax poetically about Fields last season, but the production was all with his legs and he was the QB for the worst team in the NFL, so not sure why they are celebrating. Heard a few national types talk about how the offensive film looked better with Bagent because the ball got out on time, that is a very low bar to meet, but Fields has shown he does not have the ability to make a read and get the ball out on time.

Interesting that the "out of town stupid" people are indicating they see the fact that the offense is being run more efficiently by an UDFA QB as a strong indictment of the ineptitude of Fields, but you hear the "in town stupid" WSCR hosts reverting to the tired old racial stereotypes, which is a strong indictment of the ineptitude of the abilities of the WSCR hosts.
