Gase was a hot candidate leaving the Bears tho.

Also have to give Poles and Warren their flowers on this. Brady is no slouch as far as influence goes so these guys deserve some credit for sticking the landing here.

Bears offseason champions how many years in a row now?

This is the worst part, listening to these clapping seals insist that Kevin Warren is Actually Good.

We’ll see how it plays out. This was a swing worth taking after landing a guy like Caleb. If it blows up, at least they swung for the fences.

It should be said that in the annals (and the anals) of NFL history a head coach being brought in to “develop a quarterback” has never once worked. It is a fantasy and a fiction and each time it has been tried it has failed, often spectacularly.

If this hire was to try and elevate the team? It might be successful. If this was a hire made on behalf of Caleb Williams? You will witness new lows that make even the Trestman year and this last season seem like the good ol days.

As long as they don’t get their stadium money I’m fine. Which of course they won’t because the governor and mayor couldn’t give a fat fuck about Ben Johnson.

I’m giving him and Poles credit for going head to head with Tom Brady and getting the W. That doesn’t mean Warren or Poles ‘are good’ -but they did do a good thing.

This team has done nothing but lose and routinely passed up elite talents for pedestrian and/or bad players. There is no credit to give because they what? Hired the guy with the most hype?

Hello, earth to Bears fans: if Ben Johnson was so good then why is he coming to the Bears? The same Bears who missed on Jayden Daniels (one game away from the Super Bowl) to take Caleb fucking Williams (three points against New England).

Kevin Warren is a snake oil salesman. Ben Johnson was a no brainer.

Was hiring the architect of arguably the #1 or #2 passing offense in the NFL made to maximize the QB drafted first overall this year?

True, if you ignore the Super Bowl and the 2 Pro Bowls with the Rams.

McVay couldn’t wait to run him out of town.

Agreed, but he was not a bust. He is flawed, but has been an above average QB for most of his career.

The Rams gave him up and 3 1st rounders to replace him. I'd say that's a bust.

The best coaching candidate of the last 2 years picks the Bears job and there is no doubt a huge reason he picked it is because of Williams. He disagrees with your assessment. We will see who is right.

The great part is that for whatever reason, this was the job he reportedly wanted last year too to the point he may have been willing to wait a whole year to get it. Then, he turned down the amazing Tom Brady with an offer he couldn't refuse but he actually did refuse it.
