I am ecstatic about the win, and usually don't do this, but I'm going to criticize Turner. IMO he's been solid since he got here (for the 2nd time),,,

But what was with that series in the third quarter when, down 14-7 after a Forte 9 yard gain, he called another run when they could have taken a shot down the field? Next call was a Forte run for a short first down, and then Cutler was sacked. Then there's a planned Hester screen on 2nd and 14, and a Forte run on 3rd and 13.

I'm sorry but that's just terrible playcalling, and the crowd was right to boo, especially when you're down by a TD against a team with a good D.

They don't win this game without Johnnie Knox. This kid holds on to the fucking ball! His future looks bright, fuck the experts that say the Bears don't have any receivers.

Just got back from the game. What a win. Cutler came out to play today.

And I had 7 and 4 in the squares pool 7 for Bears 4 for steelers so I won 3rd quarter and end of game.

As far as the gator chop goes who gives a flying whoop de do if the guy is playing well? It is stupid but who cares.

Cutler had a really remarkable game today. He made a bunch of great plays by moving around in the pocket and delivering the ball into tight windows. That first TD pass was pretty insane.

0 INT makes me happy, they held jay back a little bit today, and it was probably the smart thing to do.

you could see he was a lot more comfortable in this game.

it's because he was in the CSFMB chat room. he said so himself.

Overall, I thought it was a pretty good game. The WRs were a little droppy, and I would have preferred to see Forte excel a bit more. Defense was good under the circumstances. The field sucked of course.

I don't think they would have scored a point without Cutler.

After the game, my dad turns to me and asks "do they win this game last year?" I said no way in hell. That offensive line is shit right now. They have no running game whatsoever, and to top it all off, the receivers had a collective case of dropsies. But a handful of spectacular throws by Cutler saved their asses.

I officially declare that Knox and Afalava my guys; I'm getting in on the ground level. Oh, and lastly, that money they paid Gould was well spent.

I didn't like that one bit. Granted, Gould is good, and the time set up well. But the field was obviously awful (which is an absolute disgrace; I can't think of a college stadium with a field that bad- the playing surface should not have such a drastic effect on the game) and you never know how that will effect the kicking game. But they played it that way and it worked, so who knows. It's a little too close to standing on 15 when the dealer's showing a face card for my liking.

I agree. I was worried about that kick; not because of Gould, because I basically have ultimate confidence in him, but because of that field. That was a really tough kick, given the circumstances. They settled with the run, even though they damn well knew the running game was nonexistent.

Knox seems to have good football smarts; it would be nice if he was a little bigger/taller though. We could probably sign Mike Knox to be a TE too if we need one.

jeff reed missing those 2 kicks or not the bears dont win this game without cutler i completely agree. even if reed misses those kicks does anyone honestly believe they wouldve had confidence in any one of the last 20 bears quarterbacks to lead the team like cutler did in that 2nd half against the defending super bowl champions? this is why they got him

While I see reasons for the game plan today (and I think it was a okay one because it worked) I have concerns. The screens were good and I could see why they didn't try to run much. I would have like to have seen them stretch a little more but see why they didn't. They did some things right some things I questioned (running the 3rd and 13) but I really hope this coaching staff doesn't screw up Cutler. Olsen is an alert and smart player but needs to work on catching the ball.

Defense is looking good. I don't feel like I believe it yet but they looked good. Maybe other teams are having trouble gelling.

The Steelers are a different team without polamalu.

Happy for the win. Both sides are looking pretty good. They will continue to gel.

This is a big night for you with the above comment and the one about the offensive line. Are the packers still going to have this wrapped up by week 10? Is Rodgers still top 5 material?

They still need a running game, gel or no gel.

Did you really expect them to have one with today's field and the Steelers defense?

it might take til week 12. Yes rodgers is. He might be playing with the worst line in the league and led a game winning drive last week and almost brought them back this week. Still hasn't thrown an interception

Brought them back? They lost by 10.

The Bears OLine is worse.

they lost by 7 and had the ball on the bengals ten yard line. And i dont know anyone who would agree with you on the lines. Are you even watching the games?

i think i said the line could be average. They did look good in preseason. I know i said i expected the line to be better than last season. I still think the team will be very good. I definitely wasn't the only one saying that either

i agree but i'm not drastically changing it. That line scares me so far. I still think they have a great team. Lots to be encouraged by so far

Good game, awful field.

For the field to look like that, on opening day no less, is a joke. Put field turf down and be done with it. I don't care that U2 was just there or if a plane crashed into it a week ago. High schools have better conditions than what the Bears/Steelers had to play in.
