Yeah it will be nice seeing him become a pro-bowler with New England.

+1

I definitely agree with some critiques about him being soft etc, but you can't argue about his hands and combo of size/speed. I'm worried that his shortcomings are a larger reflection of our offensive staffs inability to maximize his skills rather than his deficiencies as a pass catching tight end.

His YAC is 2.6 yards. Evidently, his size and speed are not doing him any favors.

His value will never be higher. Get rid of him before smart teams realize he really isn't good and his hand are made of bricks.

Right. I was listening to the "Afternoon Saloon" (fucking baseball...) yesterday, and they had John Clayton on. To hear Clayton, you'd think this guy was a small cut below Gates. Apparently, people who don't watch every Bears game have no idea how mediocre this guy is as a TE. As time goes on, they will. Strike while the iron is hot.

clayton isn't that perceptive. most of his "analysis" is just gathering talking points from other analysts who have done actual work. he's wrong about anything he reaches for; and everything else he says is painfully obvious.

And he looks like Mr. Dewey from Saved by the Bell.

Seriously though, how did this guy ever become an NFL analyst?
