In a way, the number of interceptions thrown is somewhat arbitrary. All things being equal, fewer ints are better, but all things are seldom equal. Would you take 4000 yards and 20 ints over 3000 yards and 19 ints? Of course. Would you take 4000 and 20 over 3000 and 15? That's a closer call.
If Cutler throws 20 interceptions in 500 passes, and the offense is generally efficient, ill take that. The optimal number of interceptions isn't necessarily zero.
14 RZ INT's is bad. No matter how many yards you pass for.
Yardage means nothing really.
Give me a TD/INT ratio that is favorable.
In his case it wasn't favorable.

History says he will throw about 20 interceptions. That's the average interceptions thrown in the first year Martz joins a team. No QB or QB tandem (Hill and O'Sullivan) have thrown more than 22 in their first season.
So if he throws over 20 INT's this season you'd say it's indicitive of faulty QBing rather than a faulty program? Possibly that it casts doubt on Cutlers "Warnerlike Awareness"?

Many that is true, but an incomplete statement.
