Good Dolphin is exactly right. Phil Emery wasn't interviewed by anyone else for a GM job. He wasnt on anyones radar screen. The Bears hired him because he worked for the Bears previously & they are familiar with him, & he most likely will not rock the boat & make major organizational changes. The reason Bears fans don't like this move is because they wanted a GM who had done the job before. They wanted a guy who had a proven track record of success. The Bears as an organization have lost all credibility due to recent blunders & bad hires. Thie hiring of Emery represents the same old same old. Lovie will get a contract extension next year & the shitfest will continue.

Too bad he's forced to give Lovie a 1-year lame duck period or we'd see changes there too.

Was Ruskell let go? I heard that was a possibility.

That makes me like Emery a lot better.

McCarthy had to do the same when he took over up in Appleton.

Trying to find a new coach and staff at this late date would be a disaster.

My disposition towards the Bears is changing (actually rollercoastering since the Angelo fire).

I hope Emery is gunning ultimately gunning for Phillips job in his mind.

The Bears are not overly generous with office space/decour for their senior executives.

I have no idea how the Bears can consistently find guys that inspire zero confidence. He sounds like a more refined Angelo.

He sure as hell better draft a lot better than he conveys his vision for the Bears.
