Like the networks don't salivate when the Bears do well. The Bears have a huge national following. The Bears have always been one of the highest rated monday night draws for years. You act like the Bears aren't a traditional team with a huge fan base. You used the Jets and the Eagles as examples of prime time teams. The Bears drawf both teams in national appeal. The Bears are on equal footing with your examples of Redskins, Giants and Raiders. Maybe the Cowboys are bigger nationally. Maybe. But you act like the Bears are some back water team that nobody cares about. Jeez. Are you kidding.

Chill down. I think the Bears are one of if not the top team. What I'm saying is that the Cowboys may be just as big and the Bears rolling over teams is not necessarily as compelling a story as a nobody QB stepping in and taking over the Cowboys. The networks need another team to step up and make this interesting and they are "salivating" that it is a team like the Cowboys that they can use to draw that fan base.

I don't live in a hole. I know the Bears are huge. I was just trying to explain why the networks might be trying to play up other stories.

I think Coast put it best. They hype up the game they are doing. They were doing the Cowboys thanksgiving game. The game the entire country is watching. So guess what Troy and Joe are gonna talk about. Hey yeah. The Cowboys. I think you guys are paranoid with this "network agenda" theory. They hype up everything. Every game they do. It's there jobs. They've got the audience regardless of the hype. People love football. We love to gamble and play fantacy. We're going to watch no matter what they talk about. The networks realize this. But they have to say something during the games and on pre an post. There is no agenda. It's just talk. No hidden meaning. Talking doesn't give one team an advantage over another. If Troy says he likes the Cowboys it doesn't give them a better chance to beat the Bears. You guys need to realize this.

Maybe they are annoying and sometimes uninformed. But maybe they beleive what they are saying and you just disagree because it's your team. I just think you shouldn't care what they say. Have your own thoughts and be content with that. So you don't think it's possible for somebody to have an honest opinion that the Bears won't be in the Super Bowl? People are allowed to have that opinion. It's not always an "agenda" to bring the mighty Bears nation down. LOL.

Network agenda? There's no way something like that exists. I'm sure that Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood showed up to sing at Fox's Dallas-Tampa game was just coincidence. It had nothing to do with the multiple American Idol ads plastered throughout commercial breaks. Jeez, you guys and your tin foil hats...

No you are not wrong for wanting that. But I think you get more Bears love nationally then you say. I hear Young, Jackson, Irvin on the Count Down show and they do their power rankings that you guys love. All 3 have had the Bears in the top 3 for a couple weeks now. Other national guys too. Chris Collinsworth picked the Bears for the Super Bowl after week 3. So it's there. You just focus on the few that don't give the Bears love I think.

I just want to turn on a national station and hear some objective analysis. Am I wrong for wanting that?

No you are not wrong for wanting that and I agree with you to some degree. I don't think it will happen anytime soon as most national analysts are complete dopes. I try not to pay attention but they annoy me too. However, I'm not a very objective Bears fan but that doesn't bother me one bit.

Power Rankings? Meaningless
Statement Game(s)? Meaningless
Respect - either not enough, too much, or whatever: Meaningless
National media blather? Meaningless

It's all about wins, getting better, avoiding and dealing with injuries, keeping players out of jail, making the playoffs, gaining home field advantage and getting to and winning the Super Bowl. The rest is just noise, aka sales departments trying to sell us more newspapers, commercials and google ads.

Last time I checked, nothing said in the papers or on the radio or TV has ever effected the outcome of a game. We'll find out who the best team is in the playoffs. Until then, everything else is just "Fodder for the grill".

It's simpler than all that.
The networks don't need to stimulate interest for the hardcore fans (we'll watch when your tean is 2-9), it's all about the casual fringe fan.

When Urlacher was fucking Paris Hilton - The Bears got all the press.
Now that Romo is nailing Jessica Simpson - The Boys get the love.

Blame Broadway Joe -
I just wanna kiss you
