49ers are playing some bad football right now. Don't be fooled by that Saint score. NO gave them the ball deep in Saint territory on two occasions or that is a shutdown win for the Saints.

The battle for home field will be huge as NO and Seattle both REALLY depend on their home field advantage

I guess you also have to keep an eye on Arizona. They've been playing well.

Philly excels where the Bears suck the most: running and deep pass plays for big yardage. That's a loss.

Eagles have won 1 home game this year and play very little defense. At worst the game is a shootout and flip a coin to see who wins.

Rodgers comes back to beat the Lions on Thanksgiving and Bears beat Vikings, the Bears are in first all alone in the North.

Very likely to happen. That's how stupid this NFL is.

True, though they have been on a hot streak of sorts after Foles replaced Vick. I do think it will be a shootout, but while Philly is not great on defense, as far as I know they're not missing their top 3-4 defensive players like the Bears are.

Briggs will be back. Paea should be back. Jennings can cover Jackson as they are both small and equally fast.

Ultimately defensive analysis should be meaningless in this game. This is going to be played in the 30s the best defense being the one who is a road bump for 3 series rather than 2.

Inexplicably, the Bears actually still have a chance at playing in January. They would have to win out to get to 10-6 to have a chance. Do the Lions have 2 more losses in them? They play @Eagles, vs Ravens (Mon 12/16), vs Giants, and @Vikings.

The Lions could lose all of those games. Bears need to win Monday.

The Cowboys might drop 60pts on the Bears Monday. This season will mercifully come to an offical end a week from today.

When you're playing against Tony Romo there are many reasons to be optimistic.

Lions loss today helps. Bears have to win tomorrow night.

They failed earlier this season when presented with a similar opportunity. Not confident at all after the loss to the Vikings. They probably included a first down field goal kick as part of the fifteen scripted plays for tomorrow. DeMarco Murray will rush for 200 as well.

Bears getting into the playoffs at this point are going to turn out a lot like that 2010 Seahawks team.

I think the Bears go 2-1. I think they take the lead in the division this weekend. I have some hope that the Lions shit the bed on what should be a wintery day in Minnesota the week of NY. That, of course, depends on weather the Vikings shut down Peterson.

Uh, what does it matter if its a wintery or a summer day in Minnesota?

completely missed that. I was thinking about that late season game in Minnesota a couple of years ago when the dome was busted and forgot all the other evidence to the contrary.

I think the Bears have to win out.

Lions are 6 point favorites at home against the Ravens on MNF. Bears are 2.5 favorites in Cleveland.

Ravens have a shot at that game. They can force some picks from Stafford.

The Lions and Bears are equally mercurial. I wouldnt be surprised if the Packers win the division even though I wrote them off since they can only finish with a maximum of nine wins.

I think the Lions may lose the rest of their games. The Packers worry me more.

I figure eagles beat lions and we squeak by browns regardless of qb. After that I will reassess.
