Looks like a veteran went up to a rookie who probably had his first major altercation in the NFL and told him not to worry about it, stuff like that happens all the time.

Bennett had already been led off the field. It would have been weirder for Cutler to run after him and tell him that body slamming your teammate was cool.

And if Cutler had did that, then you would have bashed for showing a lack of leadership him for going up to Bennett while "the rest of the offense" was already there, leaving a rookie to sulk or whatever on his own.

Again, I just found it bizarre that Cutler took a long walk over and did that. I'd be just as surprised if Forte or Long did it.

Thoughts from a fellow Cutler hater. First the whole thing is much ado about nothing. I think Bennett is a fucking clown but even the throwing to the turf thing wasnt that bad. Overreaction from the media. Second like a couple have said, I took it as Cutler telling him not to worry about it, things like that happen during camp, keep doing what you are doing . Thats all. There will be plenty to pile on Cutler about this year as he sucks, so Ill wait for when he just plays like he normally does . That in of itself provides plenty of ammo.

The bar is pretty low if it is piling on Cutler to think he did something strange.

I'm not saying he is a bad teammate or he and Martellus hate each other. It just seemed strange to me. Some people are just prone to think anything I say is meant to bash him.

The big deal in this seems to be that Bennett is a loose cannon whose practice habits regularly defy the team culture Trestman is trying to instill.

Based on Bigss' Tribune story this morning, I get the feeling coaches were looking for a way to reel him back in prior to the Fuller incident.

There's no way that little flip would normally merit a suspension.

Cutler is clearly taking over the TEAM from a leadership perspective, and this is deemed "strange?!" LOL, this place.

In fairness to the rest of us jackasses, it was only deemed strange by one person.

If you're asking if Bennett is a distraction, I think the clear answer is "yes" given that he has been suspended.

I don't think that has anything to do with Cutler patting a rookie on the shoulder.

There is literally nothing strange about what Jay did. If the question is if what Martellus did was strange, I don't know why Cutler is even mentioned. He's not a part of it.

I don't hate Jay Cutler. It was called sarcasm.

I found it interesting that Cutler seemed to have Fuller's back over Bennett's in this. That is not what I'd expect for a QB/TE relationship that is on good terms. I've long suspected that Cutler and Bennett have some issues based on some of the things that Bennett said on the Boers and Bernstein show. It was subtle.

I was trying to avoid the "You just hate Jay Cutler" talk which I obviously failed at. I'll come out and say it. I don't think Cutler and Bennett like each other very much.

If you really wanted to avoid it all along, you certainly would not have started with this. You clearly either want the discussion to turn this way, or you wanted to bash Cutler. If you didn't, you wouldn't have started your discussion with the "hatred for Cutler" disclaimer, and you wouldn't be backpedaling.
