True. But Harris was one of my favorite players as a kid, and Forte wasn't. So Harris was better.

No worse than #3. He's 2nd right now in yards from scrimmage. He should pass Payton in receiving yards in a couple of years. He wants to play until he's 34. If he's able to do that he'll have close to 20,000 yards from scrimmage. He's not great at anything but he's well above average at everything. That makes him elite.

He's basically Curtis Martin minus. I'd still take Neal Anderson, I think.

Neal Anderson was good but I guess he'd be behind Forte. He didn't have the durability.

Martin was undersized but that's a good comparison. I loved Anderson as a kid so I'm a little bias when it comes to him.

I perceive Anderson as being more of a big-play threat but that could be just nostalgia. Forte has a 50+ run and catch almost every year. Curtis Enis.

Matt Suhey was extremely underrated.

Very good all-around player.

Looks like Enis has been molding young minds with some apparent success.

BRADFORD — Bradford head football coach Curtis Enis, a two-time state coach of the year, resigned this week after four years leading the Railroader program.

Both Enis and Bradford Athletic Director Dusty Yingst declined to discuss why Enis resigned less than a month before the start of the regular season.

“I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say because we did it in executive session,” Yingst said Friday morning, referencing a Monday meeting.

Enis expressed gratitude to the Bradford community and said it was an honor to be the Railroaders’ coach.

“I’ve been blessed to be a part of a lot of great kids’ growing up,” he said Friday night. “I just want the kids to know how much I was blessed to coach them.”

The Associated Press twice named Enis, who was 18-23 in four years at Bradford, Ohio’s Division VI football coach of the year. His first coach of the year honor came in his first season as the Bradford head coach in 2010, and he earned the recognition again in 2012.

In 2010 Enis inherited a program that had a 1-9 record in each of the previous three seasons. He led the Railroaders to a 5-5 record in his first year as the team’s head coach — their first non-losing season in more than a decade.

After a second consecutive .500 season in 2011, Enis led Bradford to an 8-2 record in 2012. It was the team’s first winning season since 1994 and earned the Railroaders their first playoff appearance since 1982 — the second postseason berth in school history. Bradford lost to eventual state champion Marion Local in the first round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association playoffs.

One year after the Railroaders’ historic 2012 season, Bradford went 0-10 in 2013.

In addition to his team’s success, Enis had a pair of first team all-state running backs. Johnathan Barbee was named first team all-Ohio by the AP in 2010 after leading the OHSAA in rushing yards, and James Canan was named first team all-Ohio in the AP in 2012 as he set program records for most rushing yards in a game, season and career.

Enis himself was a star running back. The Mississinawa Valley alumnus was named Mr. Football by the AP in 1993 as Ohio’s best high school football player. He then went on to Penn State where he was one of the top running backs in the nation, which led to him being the fifth overall pick in the 1998 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears. He played three professional seasons of football for Chicago.

Bradford is in the process of searching for a new varsity football coach.Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume and at least three references to Athletic Director Dusty Yingst at dusty_yingst@darke.k12.oh.us or 750 Railroad Ave, Bradford, Ohio 45308. Yingst can be reached by phone at 937-448-6575. The application deadline is Thursday.

Bradford will open the 2014 season at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 with a home game against Riverside.

I'm a Forte guy but how many freakin' plays did he have 1 guy to beat in the open field yesterday and immediately get brought down for a 4-6 yard gain?

Make somebody miss or run through somebody.

Those were 2 yard gains, he just gets the abll deep, runs wide...and while he runs 8 yards it's a 2 yard gain.

he had that one misdirection flip play they use and he got 14 yards on it, so you pulled a trick play and got a huge chunk. congrats,

He is what he is....and that is not the great back the media thinks he is....he is very good, very durable, great hands, great blocker, but runs upright and doesnt shake guys...

Yes, if he is one on one and needs 2 yards he should be able to run over D backs...which he does sometimes, but he cant and doesnt shake guys,....

Even the biggest forte supprter can't give me a memory of him shaking a guy...." A couch stander!" a play that makes you go WOW....

I was thinking more of the screen passes. Other than the one big gainer, I think his stats were something like 10 catches for 48 yards. He had a lot of open space and got nuttin'.

Not to start a new thread, but fuck you Martellus Bennett, turn around and block a guy and Forte has another TD on that big gainer.

Kuechle (sp?) was on him like flies on shit. Not his fault, really. They shouldn't have gone to him that many times.

Interesting to read the thoughts when Forte was drafted. A lot seemed to want Brohm.

A lot of interesting thoughts in that thread. FF and others were questioning if Rodgers had what it took to be a starter. I guess we now know the answer to that question. Hawkeye Vince needs to post more.

You should re-read that then. I was consistently telling Irish Boy that Rodgers was the starter. Of course I didnt know he would become one of the greatest of all time. I think I sounded as confident as I reasonably could have been given how little we saw of him prior to that season.

I like what they did.

Forte and Benson will battle in training camp. Forte will win the job. Bears won't cut Benson. Why would they? You need 2 backs. Benson will be motivated now. I think this is the last year of Benson's deal. Maybe he has 2 years.

I'm pleased with what the Bears did.

I think I heard Kiper say Forte runs a 4.4/40. Pretty good.

I'll remind all of you of this when Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo are both fired.

He really blew his "I told you so" chance when Smith and Angelo were fired.

He needs to get a pin board for those type of things like I have.

I took down my "I told you Robin Ventura was a great hire" one though without using it.

He has the most yards from scrimmage since 2008. I think it's safe to say Regular Reader and every other Forte hater were wrong.

His run today to end the 3rd quarter was the single best run of his career. Tackled by the 6th player, actually blew up 5 guys and ran through them.

I really like Forte but have never seen a guy go down with a hand grab to the foot as much as he does.
