Mike Sherman's resume remains unimpressive and there is not logic to hiring any head coach until the GM is figured out. Otherwise, we'll be back to the stupid Emery / Lovie scenario. GM and Head Coach need to be tied together with the GM being hired first. Period.

Unimpressive? Are you completely ignorant of what I've written here?

He has the highest winning percentage and post-season making percentage of any coach currently available. His winning percentage is higher than that of Kubiak, Del Rio and even Shanahan.

Your goal is to win and make the playoffs. Hiring Sherman gets you closer to those goals because of his winning history. On top of that, he's coached Brett fricking Favre and Ryan Tannehill, who is probably the best young quarterback in the game. I want to see Cutler or whoever at QB running the Favre offense with play action and naked bootleg pass/run options. That would be exciting.

I'll give you Mike Sherman intrigues me more than Mike Shanahan, but that says nothing. I want zero part of Mike Shanahan.

Your argument on QB development is stronger than winning percentage. I could be sold on Sherman...but depends on the GM. Coaching interviews right now are useless until we know who is going to be GM.

I'm with you on Shanahan. Was previously for him, but his stint in Washington with his son was not good. Don't know why it would be different with the Bears, who are probably worse off personnel-wise than Washington was when he joined them. When he was given the power to make calls on the draft at Washington, Shanahan apparently did not do well.

I think the coach is more important than GM. Hire Sherman and the GM position will take care of itself.
