Collins will be a good pro ... but I don't think he's a top 10 pick.

That's my thought as well. I like that he's a physical safety but I just saw him get burned too many times in pass coverage the last year or two.

I wouldn't be devastated or anything if they took him. I think I'd actually like to watch his style of play on the Bears. Maybe I'm starting to talk myself into it. But, I just get the sense that he's not the difference-maker you need and should be able to get at #7.

The guy at CBS has Collins going at #29 in his latest mock -

They've got much better rankings now. With all the D they've signed in the offseason, I wonder if they are going to go O-heavy in the draft.

There does seem to be a lot of value in the draft. I don't like who I think is going to be there at 7. I like Beasley but that seems high. I think they should be trading down.

Anyway, this draft would add a lot of talented athletes -

1: R1P7
QB MARCUS MARIOTA
OREGON

2: R2P7
RB TODD GURLEY
GEORGIA

3: R3P7
S JAQUISKI TARTT
SAMFORD

4: R4P7
WR JAMISON CROWDER
DUKE

5: R5P6
DE LYNDEN TRAIL
NORFOLK STATE

6: R6P7
ILB TAIWAN JONES
MICHIGAN STATE

Why do most talking heads in Chicago assume Mariota cannot play pro style simply because he hasn't? I am not yearning to draft him but all I hear is has not been in a huddle or under center. Is that terribly difficult for a high level QB to learn in a year behind Jay?

I have actually heard Cooper or White???? One year with Cutler ( as I have heard ) and then who will be throwing the pigskin ? Number 1 rated QB Connor Cook?
Better get a pass rusher and a lot more D help....I'm not really sold on Fuller.Lets see how this GM drafts. The last had 2 years how many are you willing to give this guy?

Who are all of these signings? They got a LB who appears to have upside, and a safety who is on his last legs.

Did I miss something?

Although WR is getting some love of late, still have a hard time thinking they pass on OLB in this draft. Shelton is going a lower in the most recent mocks I have seen also so, if they do defense, it almost has to be an edge rusher here. I don't think the glut of them on the roster should be a reason not to take one, considering two are coming off off serious injury and Allen is nearing the end of his career.

I would think Gurley in the 2nd would be nice to phase out Forte.

Here is my latest

1. Danny Shelton, DT, Washington
2. Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma
3. Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota
4. Ifo Ekpre-Oluma, CB, Oregon
5. Ibrahaim Campbell, S, Northwestern
6. Xavier Dickson, OLB, Alabama

This is a dream draft for best player available. Sure I didn't address all needs or even the most pressing needs. However, I got top end talent throughout. Williams won't be there at 3 but, my goodness, would that be great. I also solved a lot of problems in the secondary. This offense would be retooled and ready to produce.

I should have taken Shelton with #1 here. But, I'd still be great with this draft in adding athletic guys that can play. I'd love to get Montgomery that late as a return guy and possible 3rd receiver. I don't think Prewitt lasts that long either. I thought he was a 2/3 rounder.

I used Matt Miller's board. They don't give you the composite option anymore.

I wish they had composite. I was able to snag Peters and Darby drafting as the Packers with CBS board. Not very realistic.

I don't see any way Maxx Williams is still there in the 3rd round.

NFL Executive of the Year draft right there for the Pack.

Parker was too much value to resist at 30.
Anthony provides a rangy coverage backer to shut down pillow soft Jimmy Graham.
Diggs will step into the corner rotation missing Tramon and House.
Gunter switches to S to pair up with Dix.
The rest are depth lottery tickets to be groomed.

I did another mock today where Bryce Petty was there in the 4th.

I think I'd have to pull the trigger on that.

Agreed, I need to do some reading up on this draft.

They updated it based on last night's picks. I was disappointed with the options on the 3rd round pick. I'm hoping for some better alternatives tonight.

Still, thought I'd throw one more out there.

1: R2P7
OT JAKE FISHER

2: R3P7
DT HENRY ANDERSON

3: R4P7
CB IFO EKPRE-OLOMU
OREGON

4: R5P6
TE JEFF HEUERMAN

5: R6P7
QB SEAN MANNION
OREGON STATE

The Texans cut Lynden Trail?

Bears need to grab him and throw him at TE.
