Good win by the Bears. Caleb Williams still sucks though. He was outplayed by Green Bay's backup if anyone is really being honest

Bears lost 3 games (2 by double digit scores) after leading at the start of the 4th last year alone.

Nice to see competent late game QB play finally rewarded.

Going into this game the Bears were drafting 9th.. the most they could drop today is to 10th.. so no I don’t think this should ever have been about draft positioning.

Now Carolina fucking up our 2nd round pick with a win is a different story..

The Bears don’t get the benefit of the doubt vis-à-vis draft positioning. They use third rounders on Ivy League projects. They can do that at any time.

No but now this drive that was 75% penalties against a Green Bay team that truly could not have cared less will be like some Elwayesque feat to Bears fans. If this saved Poles job then lmao.

Yeah I’m sure they dont care about playing the Eagles rather than the Rams. Good point.

anyone actually watching williams play in this game saw the same issues that were prevalent the entire season (unable to throw downfield, inaccurate throws, indecisiveness etc.). The offense was dreadful save for the DJ moore TD drive. the OC even coddled him today by calling a completely horizontal passing attack. whether santos makes or misses the kick has no impact on what i think about caleb williams. is it worth ending an 11 game losing streak to GB just to kill that streak vs. giving up 2 or more draft slots...?

Ironically his lone TD came as a result of a 4 yard screen pass that the "much maligned" D J Moore took 35 yards for a touchdown. We still are to believe that he has"All World" Arm Talent however

Add another touchdown that doesn't count!

I dont really know the answer to all that. But I am always glad to beat the Pack. And no matter what happened today fans were going to be hopeful about Williams next season with a new coach and another year, etc.

Yep. He sucked again today and was outplayed by GB's backup who came in for spot duty off the bench

Does his TD% count as well? Just Asking A Question

You can probably count on one hand the number of times Caleb dropped back and wasn't pressured, oftentimes right up the middle, on top of being behind on down and distance almost every drive. Those clamoring for a better performance given the context of today's game are free to point to specific plays where he missed open receivers. But keep in mind how many times you may have said that he should take the checkdown instead of holding the ball for so long.

If someone were to provide statistics which demonstrate that Caleb Williams hasn't been the most pressured QB i(or close to the most pressured QB in the league this season) you'll just immediately begin to discredit or dismiss the very stat which tracks this sort of thing.

Caleb Williams has been "hurried" as measured by PFR the 9th-most times in the league, and sacked the most times in the league. He has been "Hurried" (Sacks + Pressures + Hits) 5th-most in the league, not counting the atrocious o-line performance today.

But as I've said, "hurried" is a judgement call at a certain point, and not all "hurries" are created equal, so to account for that it's probably best to just focus on sacks, or maybe sacks and hits, and again Caleb has been sacked and hit nearly most in the league.

There’s nothing more to say until the hype train arrives in training camp. If you can’t recognize reality now you won’t start getting a clue come March.

And a lot of his sacks are the result of there simply being too many guys too block as a result of the opposing defense blitzing at the line of scrimmage. Which means it's on him to make the correct call and read at the line of scrimmage. He hasn't done this which is the main reason as to why he has been sacked so much.

He's not the only QB to ever have be "hurried" or "pressured". He's one of the few that I have ever seen that cannot ever seem to make the other team pay for the pressure.

Don't know if it was mentioned earlier, but one of the coaches appeared to be reading Williams the riot act after the Moore fumble. I assume Caleb gave some bad body language?

You were on the verge of a full disaster breaking out until that ticky tack horse collar saved the Bears chances at this game. Even then they needed the grounding no-call to even have a chance too.

We will pick it up when we do over/unders in Williams play next year. You can even set the numbers!

Not surprisingly, you are overlooking the fact they wouldn’t have needed any “referees calls “ if DJ Moore doesn’t fumble the fucking football with a minute and a half left in the game. But you’re right the Bears got “lucky” when Williams drove them down the length of the field for a game-winning field goal. The penalties that the Bears commit on offense when they’re driving that help out the opposing team are totally legit though and not “ lucky” for the other team .

Bears needed to act like they’ve been there before, even though none of them have been.

None of it matters because women and diversity hires are in charge of the Bears. They just want to see Caleb loud & proud gay as fuck on TV. You think winning games matters to the Bears  it doesn’t. It’s all about George’s dystopian vision.
