To be fair I don't think there was much he could do given the circumstances. If Marshall doesn't drop that pass when he was wide open, then it's a different story. But pretty much all Cutler could do on the last play is throw it up to anyone. He already tried Jeffery once. They lost that game because of pre-snap penalties on their penultimate drive, and because Mel Tucker sucks.

Probably. He's the best in the game though.

Yep, rust and all.

Cutler is not even the best on the Bears.

Marshall should have caught it but it was a bad throw.

And because the offense didn't show up until the 2nd half. Primarily because of Trestman's play calling.

Yes I agree with you and jimmy here. They wasted time in the second half; it was an extension of the Philly game.

Oh I agree I know there wasn't much to be done at that point and didn't expect anything . Just Cutler being so predictable, was going go throw it to Marshall no matter what.

Not that it mattered, but I think Cutler was past the line of scrimmage on the last play...it would've been interesting if the Bears had scored there.

1st year Coach who has been waiting forever for a head coaching job has a shot to win the division at home by knocking their rivals out of the playoffs.

Might have been his one chance.

I'm afraid that Rodgers will be even better and I'm afraid they are going to put more talent around him and might actually hire a good defensive coordinator. This doesn't look for my Bears.

It didn't have to end this way; they had a golden opportunity to eliminate the Packers by simply showing up in Philly, which didn't happen. That's why I never got the nonchalance of some guys here when they lost - losing that game was a huge deal, even without the benefit of hindsight.

I didn't look it up, but iirc the Bears have somewhere around 25 free agents after this year...or is it 25 players signed beyond this year? Either way there will be major turnover on the Bears roster, as there should be. This will be a fun offseason.

If they give Cutler $17M they will only have about $25M to spend on everyone else (including draft picks). If you want your guy back here you need to convince him to take a short term deal.

He's clearly been your guy. Frank wavered a little but you were in his corner no matter what. Zambrano may be the only other player I can recall you having a man crush on but he didn't come close to Cutler.

Zambano? Hi, I'm Dr. Ken. I don't recall ever having a strong thought on Zambrano.

There's probably 8-10 guys I'd rather have than Cutler. But I can't have those guys. And I don't think going the Sam Bradford route is an upgrade. Been my position all along.

As a Bears fan this was prolly the worst I've experienced in some time. The Bears had this game won but completely failed when the opportunity was there for the taking.

IDK what can be done to fix the defense in this off-season. They were the reason for the loss. When your QB has a 148.3 QBR it shows he played well enough to win.

This game has shaken me to the core.

I know you enjoy making fun of me, but this game was profound for me in the fact that this team could have won this very game. Rodgers played like crap and the stats showed it. Cutler played really well and was executing ball-security offense and made the plays when he needed to.

The crawl showed Cutler with a 148.3 QBR which I believe is almost perfect and I could not ask more from a QB.

The defense completely fucked this team today and the D coordinator should be held accountable.

QB play was fine for the Bears in the second half; unfortunately when the offense finally got going after taking a six quarter vacation during the two of the most crucial games on the schedule, the defense reverted back to form and starting giving up huge chunks or yardage. The 48 yard TD to Cobb was more funny to me than it was painful - what else were we expecting to happen?!?

How many 3 and outs did the Bears have in the 1st half? When you know your defense is a bottom 3 unit and has been consistently, and you're facing another atrocious defense, that can't happen. The Bears defense was terrible, but Cutler didn't play well enough to win.

I expected the Bears to play a two-deep safety scheme rather than an all-out blitz. Conte and Wright should have been playing cover 2 and looking for the deep ball.

The formation was irresponsible and Tucker should be lambasted for that.

This is just a stupid trolling comment. Cutler played about as perfect a game as a QB can play with regards to the QBR he had in the 4th quarter which about doubled Rodgers' QBR.

Go troll somewhere else.

I did say he played well in the second half; the first half was garbage.

And he did play well enough to win - they were up one with less than a minute to go. Unless he directed the defense to concede the TD in the last seconds of the game, that loss isn't on him.
