We blamed Mooney for this too. It sounds like we owe Mooney an apology.

So even though our OL is now at least average and Cleveland had 14 players out on IR, Fields can't be faulted for being pressured. Must be the scheme, not his inability to read defenses or his throwing mechanics. Funny how the guy on the other team, who was literally a statue and whose arm was clearly atrophied, was able to find a way.

We went thru this type of denial with Cutler and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky too.. so I’m not shocked

I don’t know if I saw the statistic printed here or somewhere else but Flacco was pressured more than Fields was on his throws percentage wise

My eyes told me Sweat was "close" to having 8 sacks.

Understood but the NFL is full of big plays. The one to the no name TE gets them minimum to go to goal. The Mooney one wins them the game. Nothing to pfft at.

Holy shit. Guys, listen to the Dan Wiederer interview on Bernstein and Holmes. That's all I'm going to say.

Next season is gonna be great for Fields! Look at how much he's going to progress to become an All-Pro QB!

He was sick of them blowing Fields and Holmes tried to treat him like a caller.

They are so wrapped up and not blaming fields that they sabotage their own argument with their hypotheticals. The guy they think is unlikely to get another job as an offensive coordinator is sabotaging his quarterback and stifling his offense to ensure… that he won’t get another job as an offensive coordinator? only the plays that flFields is successful on are good well designed plays and succeeded mainly because of Fields talent and not the play design but the bad unsuccessful plays are on Getsy.

That was Bernstein’s half hearted attempt to act like he was paying attention.

It's absurd. They wouldn't do anything remotely similar for another below average player.

Their implicit position is that a starting quarterback shouldn't be expected to transcend bad game plans or poor play by his teammates.

As Wiederer pointed out, this happens all the time.

Just not in Chicago.

What was the little interrupting question by Bernsie whether Kevin Warren was there or not for?

I'm not sure what Kevin Warren has done to have the Chicago media blowing him and pretending he's the savior. The only guy in the organization who has shown he may be competent is Poles. Wake me up when the Bears have a stadium deal.

I'm open to the idea that I'm wrong about Williams or a Daniels or Penix is the answer.

They also need a HC, a DC, and an OC. There's a feeling out there Warren might be the guy to insist upon it, which would go against Chicago Bear history.

This offseason will be the most important offseason in decades. If they get the quarterback right, we'll win for at least a decade. IMO, the quarterback is more important than the coach. If they get both right, we're probably looking at multiple Super Bowls.

Warren can be in the room, but I want Poles making these decisions.

They had EIGHT (8) THREE AND OUTS on Sunday!

Surely a transcendent talent and future ALL-PRO like Fields should be expected to perform at a slightly higher level than that.

The better question is why is Getsy calling plays that demand Fields hold on to the ball for a league leading 4 seconds.

On that note, why has Fields skyrocketed to 5th or 4th place or something on the Bears all time sacks taken leaderboard? What kind of play calling calls for six second sacks? Must be Getsy.

Kellen Moore, credited with developing Dak, and Brian Griese, credited with the Making-of-Brock-Purdy (soon to be a 30/30) and getting Jimmy G not to throw picks every other game, both could be available this off-season. Griese more likely in the same role he's had in SF as QB Whisperer. Moore prolly doesn't wanna go down from OC, but not sure anyone's looking at the Chargers offensive output this season and saying "I want that". If Moore doesn't get any bites on another OC gig he'd be poachable as QB coach; which might be Moore's ceiling.

I have no use for Moore and an OC. I could entertain Griese.
